The significance of the events, what led up to them and what their consequences were are all told in a very readable fashion. At the same time the people involved in the events are discussed in a way that gives them depth and life. Very readable and fills in the gaps left by our limited and probably censored history and catechism lessons Including the shameful sack of Constantinople that got the Crusaders excommunicated, the leper king that was in the movie 'Kingdom of Heaven' that had to be tied to his horse to lead his army,Richard the Lionheart that could have changed the history of the Middle East, Saladin the Great the archenemy of the Faith.
