Recap #74: Fear Hall Part 1 – A.K.A. “Fear Street: The College Years”

I also was a bit confused at first.

There is also a series named Nightmare Hall, and I was thinking this was just a companion story or some other story that had to do with that series. It turns out it doesn't, even though the similarities are abundant. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this one, well Otherwise, I would suggest you stay away.

Since this book has no ending, it just gives us a seen-it-coming twist and an open ending. It is still a terrific book, good story, good characters, but if you can't find the second book, then you will just be frustrated like me. Review first posted at http: I've been having so much fun reading my old "horror" series, and this is unfortunately the last Fear Street book my library has. What happened to all of them!? I wasn't ready to stop taking this trip down memory lane yet, dang it!

I've only read this book once, but I remembered the big twist at the end. It made it a lot more fun to read this time around since I was looking for the clues to support that ending. I don't remember the second book at all, which sucks since my library doesn't have it.

I might not have actually ever read it, so I don't know how this ultimately ends. This was an even quicker read than usual for these books, but because of that twist I have to give it 3 stars. Not fabulous, but good. Jun 07, Chelsea Gouin rated it liked it Shelves: Fear Hall is a two-parter that RL Stine apparently was so pumped about according to like the 4 authors notes in here about it. All I remembered about this particular title was the twist ending. It was cool knowing the surprise and rereading to try and pick up the clues. It's fairly cleverly hidden in plain sight with one really stupid obvious instance that almost gives it away.

I would definitely have given this higher stars as it's a really intriguing story given that shocker e Re-Read. I would definitely have given this higher stars as it's a really intriguing story given that shocker ending! It didn't flow, having awkward transitions and jumpy plot points. If memory serves the conclusion isn't as satisfying as this entry was but Definitely worth a try for Fear Street readers but not worth the re-read.

Jun 04, Amber rated it it was amazing. I really hope that a whole new generation of teens gets to fall in love with these books!!! This book really deserves 2. I couldn't give it 3 because this book is so frustrating. Just turn in the murderer! No, don't vote on it, just do it! It makes you want to re-read it again to see what you missed despite the craziness of the girls. Oct 29, David Popovich rated it it was amazing. This is the best Fear Street book I've read. Not just the first part, but both books together.

This story feels the most fleshed out. With a good cast and storyline that leads to a tragic ending.

While most Fear Street books can be forgettable, this one will not leave my mind soon. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Mungkin maksudnya fakta hanya dibuka sedikit demi sedikit, tapi buat mereka yang sudah terlalu banyak baca cerita seperti ini pasti bisa menebak keseluruhan fakta jauh sebelum bab terakhir. Angel, Jasmine, and Eden don't exist. They're just Hope's other personalities. Stine doesn't tell us at the last chapter, I think there's no Darryl either.

Apr 25, Cindy rated it really liked it Recommends it for: Hope and her room when i first started this book, it was kind of boring, but as i went on, it seem interesting. Hope and her roommates live in a girl floor, were no boys are allowed, but Darryl was so scared that he went into Hope's room and told what he did. Darryl has some jealousy and craziness. Stine's books, but this book still remains in my head. The story is really really unpredictable. It's about four roommates who live in a dormitory. Stine divided the story into 4 parts, in different point of views from the figures. The four point of views are like puzzles and actually give us some clues about what really happen.

But if we do not really pay attention, may be we can't see any awkwardness. In the last part, i just realized conn Even though it's been long time i don't read R.

In the last part, i just realized connection of that four point of views. I really appreciate R. Stine for the idea of the story and the way he arrange it. Because for some of his books especially Goosebumps, hehe May be at that time during my primary and junior high school time I read his books a lot so I could recognize the plot ; Jan 02, Tamikia rated it really liked it. Stine's books you will know that the killer is either not the person who you think it is or the main character is just nuts which is the case with this novel.

I was surprised at the end at first but upon rereading it all makes sense, like why the nosy girls across the hall are always staring at Hope and her friends strangely and even a couple of times called one of Hope's friends "Hope", why Jasmine couldn't recall a whole day resulting in her losing her job, why Hope was enrolled i Reading R. This book was okay and brought back a lot of memories to my high school days when I used to love these Fear Street books. The conclusion is a bit of a disappointment I'm really sad to say. However, it turns out that someone is out there to kill the friends and horrible things start to happen. I was lost when I first read it because it was told from 4 different point of views. I was confused who was telling the story unless I have to look back to the beginning of each part. It is really easy to miss a hint if you are not rea This is about Hope and her roommates, Angel, Eden and Jasmine, that live in Fear Hall.
