Nov 02, Gigi rated it really liked it Shelves: Yep, that's a lot of bases to cover, but they happen to be my bases, so I was pretty darned excited when I read the synopsis for Totally Covered.

MC Malcolm is an undercover police officer who has been shot in the line of duty and needs to be cared for while recuperating. He has no family so his part-time Doms for over a decade, MCs Key and Dar, take him into their home to nurse him back to health. Key and Dar are in love with their sub and have wanted their boy to be a full-time member of their family for many years. They use this time to help Mal heal physically and emotionally from his 5 month undercover ordeal and try to convince him to stay and join their family.

The sex was hot, the emotions were real and heartfelt and I really enjoyed the book. It ticked all my kink boxes, with the fact Mal was a police officer being the cherry on top of the genre sundae. I did have a few problems with the story, which reflects in the 4 star rating. The boys went way over the top with the possessiveness and the declarations of love and the growls and the "Mine!

A few would have been fine, but I actually lost count. Also, we didn't actually get a HEA. Yes, it was implied, but a HFN is just never enough for me to give a book a full 5 stars. I'm a greedy bitch like that. View all 7 comments. A Hearts On Fire Review 3. Undercover cop Mal is hurt on the job and he goes to his part-time Doms Burke and Darby to heal. Mal has been seeing his Dom lovers for sessions for twelve years. He's a loner and has no friends or family. But his Masters want to be his family and make their relationship more permanent.

If only Mal could learn how to accept care and try to heal from his traumatic experience. Are you doing the math? That's right, it equals kinktastic times to the tune of sounding, cuffs, spanking, double penetration and flogging. The kink part is typical Sean Michael fare-pretty damn hot. I hesitate with books that use BDSM as a tool to heal someone who is damaged especially mentally.

Yes, you can argue that it could be used on case by case basis and if done with guidance it can help. But Mal was shot, he has scattered thoughts, seemed to be addicted beginning stages to prescription drugs and somewhat of a brat. I love characters that are multifaceted but he was closer to bipolar. He was all over the place with his thought patterns, not to the point where he could be pitied. He was borderline annoying. I liked him best when he had a cock or two in him. Burke and Darby a licensed and practicing psychiatrist , they were not bad.

I liked them mostly. I wished there was maybe 30 more pages or so, to let the characters shine. The blurb was promising but the execution was not as solid as I would have liked. Maybe if Mal didn't try to be bratty, ungrateful, damaged, crazy, pitiful, sad, horny, stubborn all at the same time, I might have liked him more.

Daddy, Daddy, and Me by Sean Michael is such a sweet story of serendipity and what can happen if you trust - in the universe, a higher power or just each other. Donny is having a lot of difficulty getting work in his chosen field due to being a man. Let alone a gay man!

Child Care is a tough gig when no one will give you a go - despite having great qualifications. Jeff is a Daddy, Daddy, and Me by Sean Michael is such a sweet story of serendipity and what can happen if you trust - in the universe, a higher power or just each other. Jeff is at his breaking point. His whole life is turned upside down and he is nearly crippled when Donny turns up at his door. Poor Jeff just needs a reliable hand to get himself sorted out. Donny just needs someone to give him a go. These two are clearly meant for each other - in more ways than one. As they learn to trust each other and provide support during a difficult time, love blossoms and passions ignite.

This tale is highly awwwww-worthy and the side characters are as good as the main characters! The children provide some good laughs and a sister with very little maternal instincts supplies more than a few chuckles. I am sure Daddy, Daddy, and Me by Sean Michael will stay with me for a long time due to its sweet telling of a difficult situation and characters who jump right off the page with definition and colour.

So when he goes to his job interview with Jeff, he walks into utter chaos and understands that this family needs him. I liked this book full of love. Jeff is completely lost, traumatized and still mourning Beth, his best friend. I love Jeff, I was sad for him, and he broke my heart. Donny is the gay version of Mary Poppins. The guy is calm, confident, and manages to deal with two kids and a lost dad in total chaos without breaking a sweat.

No really, the guy is Mary Poppins. The book and plot were good. I read it straight away, from the beginning to the end and I had a great time with them. I recommend this book. Aug 07, Liza rated it really liked it Shelves: I was so in the mood for a little fluff with just a touch of drama and this was perfect!

Jeff has suddenly become the father two children when his best friend dies in a fire. He was their sperm donor, but never thought would be the daddy to a toddler and a newborn. He needs help, fast! So he puts out an ad for a nanny. And that's where Donny comes in. He has a degree in Childhood education, but no one takes him seriously because he is a gay man. He walks into Jeff's door at the exact right time.

There was so much sweetness in this story. Robin was adorable and the growing relationship between Donny and Jeff was great. Then came the drama. It went from 0 to 60 in 0. Yes, it might have been slightly over the top, but it fit in with how chaotic Jeff's life had become. I loved how Donny took everything in stride, not even blinking at most of the things thrown at them.

This really is the perfect book to read when you want that fluff with a side of drama. I've been wanting to read a Sean Michael book for some time now and my schedule just opened up enough to let this one in! Looking forward to the experience! He lost his live-in boyfriend of seven years when his best friend died and he gained two children, which were biologically his. He never thought he'd be a dad to them but, then, he did not expect Beth to die shortly after giving birth to her daughter. Donny needed a job. It was not easy to apply for a nanny position: Even in today's day in age, prejudice seemed to run rampant.

What was not to love about these two as individuals and as a growing family unit? The kids were fantastic as well. The secondary cast provided a balancing amount of supporting filler with their good and bad guys. The dialogue and interactions were believable. The plot was entertaining and enjoyable with a fluidity and ease that made reading it a true pleasure.

I kind of wish that the terminology was varied a little more but that's my only criticism. Don handled conflict much better than Jeff; however, Jeff was dealt a much bigger crapstorm to deal with, a few times over. Predictability was moderate, unfortunately, but I still really enjoyed how things played out and worked in the end. I really found this story my first from the author a pleasure to read and look forward to reading more by him soon.

Donny is just amazing with the two kids, he knows how to defuse a situation and how to get Robin to help with things so he feels included. Before long they are getting into a routine, although Jeff works until very late because of his restaurant job, however on his days off he tries to spend as much time with the kids as possible and often invites Donny to be a part of family outings.

Before long … well, you guessed it. The two men are having fun after the kiddies are in bed and then …. When on a weekend away, the house burns to the ground, Jeff completely loses it and Donny is forced to pick up the pieces again as Jeff spirals into a depression. I rather enjoyed the fact that while Jeff was older and supposedly more stable with a job doing something he was very good at, when the pressure came, it was younger Donny who stepped up and put on the big girl panties and did what needed to be done, while Jeff flailed around emotionally.

Is that a new thing, to call the gay community family? Am I just out of the loop on that? Dec 22, Jenre rated it liked it Shelves: I'm a bit of a fan of Sean Michael's short stories, finding them hot and kinky, but not so much of his longer books. This is mainly because his longer novels tend to mostly sex with the tiniest bit of plot slotted in amongst all the hot and heavy.

However, just occasionally the author releases a longer book where the plot takes precedence over the sex, and Daddy, Daddy and Me is an example of such a book. The story begins with Donny who has recently graduated as a specialist in early years care. He's trying to find a job in child care as a nanny but is finding it difficult to pass an interview because even if people can get past the fact that he's a man, they soon show him the door once he reveals that he is gay. He arrives at Jeff's house feeling generally despondent to discover a house in chaos.

The baby is screaming, the three year old is refusing to have a bath and Jeff is hopping around with blood dripping out of his foot.

Donny immediately takes charge and once the house is peaceful, Jeff, who has been left with two small children after his best friend died, hires him. Donny is over the moon, especially because Jeff is gay too, and once Jeff's has had chance to get some sleep, Donny realises that he's also very attractive.

Reward Yourself

In the end I had a mixed response to this book. I'm always a little wary of books with children in them because they always seem to be these idealised version of kids which doesn't tally with my own experiences. Fortunately this wasn't the case with this book, as I felt that the author had done a good job of showing the joys and the difficulties in raising children. Most of the story is about the way that the men work together to look after the kids and so the children did feature quite a lot. Just occasionally I did wonder why neither of the men seemed to need a break and even when it was Donny's days off he still didn't take time for himself.

I found that rather odd. Another thing that worked for me was in Jeff and Donny's growing regard and affection for each other. Their feelings grow quite quickly but I felt that was realistic given that they spend so much time with each other. I also liked the way that the grandparents of the children were present in their lives and pleased to see Jeff and Donny happy together. The final thing I liked was that the story allowed space for Jeff and his son to grieve over the death of Beth. Donny's arrival means that Jeff can finally draw breath and face his reactions to Beth's death and there were several touching scenes where Jeff grieves for her.

Robin may only be three, but he's old enough to know his Mom is gone and yet not understand why. The scenes where Jeff and Donny have to cope with a confused little boy tugged at my heart strings without ever becoming overly sentimental and mawkish. What didn't work so well for me was the character of Mitch, Jeff's ex-lover. He was such a missed opportunity in my opinion. Mitch leaves Jeff after the kids arrive, horrified that their cozy life together has been invaded by nappies, crying children and sleepless nights. Jeff is very upset that Mitch chose to end their seven years together, as is understandable, but I could also understand Mitch's point of view too.

It must have been hard for him to have his life changed like that when he was never interested in children and it seemed realistic that if he couldn't cope he would leave. Not everyone wants or even likes children. However, instead of allowing us to have a measure of sympathy for Mitch, he's turned into some kind of monstrous, evil selfish man.

It wasn't enough that he's branded a selfish asshole by everyone just because he doesn't like children, he becomes a psychotic, unhinged money grabbing maniac. It was entirely unnecessary and I would have been much happier if Mitch either didn't appear bodily in the book, left only to be the selfish man who left Jeff, or even better that we could have seen a man who had to make a choice and chose his own needs over that of his lover's children.

This would have provided a much more nuanced character than the one we get with Mitch. My feelings about Mitch and the rather over the top way he behaves in the story coloured my view of the book overall, so that whilst I liked Donny and Jeff, and thought the story on the whole an enjoyable and satisfying read, I still would give this book three star rating.

It may be that many readers wouldn't be put off by Mitch's character, in which case I would recommend this book to you. Jan 06, Becky Condit rated it it was amazing. I love baby daddy books. Sean Michael is one of my favorite authors.

So the blurb of Daddy, Daddy and Me read like a dream book for me. Beginning with Donny being such a nurturer that he turned his degree in early childhood education into a job as a nanny, to Jeff being such a good man that he agreed to help his friend Beth become a mother not once but twice, these are characters to fall in love with and follow to the end of the book. However, he has not yet been able to work being a full-time single parent into his life without becoming exhausted. The fact that one of the children is a newborn certainly factors into that.

Donny and Jeff take a little time getting to the point that they are ready for a romance, and that is to be expected. Not only are they employer and employee but Jeff both are becoming adjusted to their new roles, Donny in his first job as a nanny and Jeff as a single parent of two children. This is an emotional read that takes your breath away as two men fall in love with each other and with their children. This is a lovely, lovely book.
