Much of the prose at the time was probably incomprehensible to my young third or fourth grade mind but something about a space ship hurtling toward the sun captured my imagination. My tastes have matured It all started with a short story by Ray Bradbury when I was about nine years old.

My tastes have matured and now I enjoy reading all kinds of books. I was born and grew up in Utah and Denver, Colorado. When I was nineteen I lived in South Korea for eighteen months where I served an ecclesiastical mission for my church.

Upon returning home I spent a few more years in Utah, met my best friend, married her, and then decided to move to Washington where we lived for twelve years and were blessed with four great children. Beginning in the year our family has been on a kind of odyssey across the country. Upon graduating with a Master of Architecture we moved to Florida for a year, back west for a wonderful two years in sunny southern Utah and then to New Orleans, Louisiana for a fun filled two years.

I have provided for my family by working in various occupations throughout the years, including Vascular Technology, Graphic Design, and now architecture. I currently live with my wife and four kids in the great state of Wyoming where I practice architecture full time and write in almost every free moment I can find. Reprisal is my second novel in the epic sci-fi thriller series, Exodus. Look me up on facebook at: Other books in the series. Books by Orson T. No trivia or quizzes yet. The writing and the characters are so good not to mention the space combat which is just excellent. A lot of the book is spent on moving the story forward to the main event.

EMP Exodus (Dark New World, #2) by Henry Gene Foster

Especially when the Cacas are in for some surprises which is quite frequent in this installment. Well, I am not supposed to actually like him of course but I am not sure I like him even as a unlikable bad guy. He usurped the throne from his predecessor by less than honorable methods but apart from assassination skills he is mostly incompetent.

Actually he is a power hungry asshole with a much too inflated ego. His personality does increase the reading pleasure of the some of the surprise moments in the book though so… Although the Cacas do get the ass whooping they deserve their empire is large and, given the content of the last chapter of the book I think it is safe to assume that the New Terran Empire still have their future work cut out for them as well as a few more nasty surprises coming their way.

I am of course eagerly looking forward to be reading about this in the next book s. Dec 26, Leif Dolan rated it it was amazing. Using tactics from the past has helped out future humans how to win a war. Pearl harbor and the Doolittle raid can still teach us something.

A lot of " I've read a few of these long series and there's a tendency in them for the humans to grow so powerful that they seem unstoppable and the books become a bit dull by the end but the author deals with this very well. Definitely will be looking at other series from the author.

If all three are available as long as the third finishes the series , I would definitely try to line them up and listen to them in order.

The stories really play off of each other and this one picks up right where the first book left off. And I know that the third book will do the same. Overall, a really enjoyable prepper book filled with internal struggles and a lot of prepper knowledge and instinct narrated by the wonderful Kevin Pierce. I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. Apr 28, J. Menefee rated it it was amazing Shelves: An outstanding continuation of book 1. This series is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites. It's written in an unusual way, but that never gets in the way of the story.

In fact, I can't think of any books that do such seamless POV shifts, other than perhaps the Liaden series. And the changes in POV are never jarring, never pointless - you see the story almost like a movie in the mind, and the different POVs give the story a great sense of movement.

This is unlike any other "prepper" fiction I've read - like book 1, it's more post-apocalypse or dystopian than prepper. But the author clearly knows what he's talking about, with lots of little easter eggs of prepping wisdom scattered throughout, without ever becoming a lecture or monologue. Apr 28, Talena Colley rated it it was amazing. Superb I love the way this author writes. His craft is engaging, complex, and filled with the build up of tension in all the right places throughout the story.
