Accounting for Lust

Accounting for Lust

It was just that They didn't even exchange names, but that night has stayed with both of them since to give them fodder for their fantasies. So it's a HUGE surprise when Jake is part of the security firm hired to protect Cassie when she and her company come under attack. Conveniently enough, he's the guy personally in charge of her security. I did mention that this book is really hot, right?? I really loved these two together.

First of all, their chemistry is through the roof, but Cassie is normally a very reserved, accountant-like personality. She becomes so much more with Jake. Neither one of them ever planned to have a permanent relationship in their lives, but as they get closer to each other, they begin to question that. I liked the way that the story was ended. It really worked for them and the personal issues they are trying to work through. And in the midst of all that, there is the danger to Cassie and the company that her dad has built.

The author exposes the bad guy early on in the book, but that doesn't mean you know exactly what he's doing or how he's going to proceed next. I'll admit that was probably the weakest part of the story, but I still enjoyed the suspense story line. Just remember that this book is erotica, first and foremost and it totally works in that aspect. I was disappointed in this novel; it could have been so much more.

The first chapter was very exciting and should have set up the rest of the plot, but unfortunately this momentum was not maintained. The main characters are one-dimensional and neither of them knew the meaning of love. Even for an erotic novel, the sexual encounters happened so often and so went on for so long that they became mechanical.

I skipped page after page looking for some depth to the plot. There were occasions when the characters did not question something obvious and Cassie wasn't prepared to take the danger which stalked her seriously, which totally irked me. Not deserving of less than three stars, but if re-written, paying attention to the tenses here and there and with more emphasis on characterisation, this could be a real humdinger of a novel.

The first chapter already sizzled as Cassie Adams met this sexy stranger and had wild no-strings attached sex for one night which was so memorable that ten months later, she was still thinking of him. But, that unforgettable night in Mauritius was the least of Cassie's worries.

There is only one problem, James Pierce is the sexy stranger whom Cassie met in Mauritius.

Betweent the sizzling sex scenes and finding the thief, "Accounting for Lust" offers a double shot of adrenaline to the readers. The chemistry between Jake and Cassie is palpable. The antagonist, who was introduced early on was sinister in his soliloquies that you actually become interested in him. The characters are three-dimensional and fleshed out very well.

A good read for erotica lovers. The writing was good and it kept my attention through out the book.

But this was more of an erotica book than RS. I think the romance and suspense came second the to erotica. There were some situations that had me shaking my head thinking, "really"? I mean you are going to get busy on your office desk after your office blew up the day before? Just remember that this book is erotica, first and foremost and it totally works in that aspect.

A nice story with drama, action, lust and love. It could do with some editing and some scenes required a bit more common sense from the main characters, however overall it was still an enjoyable read. This wasn't really anything special - plot was predictable. MCs meet while on vacation, have a one-night stand without exchanging names then are unable to forget each other. They meet again when the female MC requires a security detail and the male MC's company is hired to provide such.

They immediately begin having sex again even though his job is to be her bodyguard; even having sex in her office where they're caught on film.

Some extra time spent editing would have been good; there were some instances where the incorrect spelling of the word was used i. Soon after starting an investigation of the company's records, her life is endangered. The comp I picked this up during a free promotion and thoroughly enjoyed it. The company hires a security firm to guard her, and Jake is the one assigned to her. The story has a lot of steamy hot love scenes and also quite a bit of suspense. Apr 18, Melinda rated it really liked it Shelves: This is an exciting story. A mystery that unfolds slowly while the main character meets her hero. There are so many exciting things that happen throughout. Cassie is a strong character who knows when to compromise when needed. She has a good friend in Joshua, who knows when and how to look after his boss and friend.

Jake is a good strong, male and a good compliment to Cassie. Lots of excitement in this story. A really good, fast-paced, enjoyable read! Mar 10, April rated it it was amazing. This thriller debut by Ylette Pearson sizzles from page to page, but not only because of the hotness between Cassie and Jake - which I have to add is damn hot and then some, but the element of suspense kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.

Accounting for Lust (An Erotic Romance) by Ylette Pearson on Apple Books

Unfortunately, "Accounting For Lust" was just steam. There was potential for a really great suspense back story and great strong characters. Jake and Cassie both had potential to be well developed characters with amazing stories. The editing was pretty bad too - many grammatical errors that were distracting. May 08, Janie rated it did not like it. Sorry but this book wasn't good. Very weak plot and character development, full of spelling and grammar mistakes and boring.

The sex scenes were quite hot but they became repetitive too. I only finished it because it was a reading challenge. Oct 07, Lee-Anne Phillips rated it liked it. Familiar Territory The lust is there but, sadly, grammar and word choices could use a little editorial first aid. I personally was a little put off by some of the kinky stuff, but the "whodunnit" puzzle was fairly well-played, as was the setting and plot. May 29, Tia Thornl rated it liked it. I thought that this was a nice book but it didn't excite me because of the predictable story line and a quick ending.

It wasn't as well written as i would have liked it to be, however it was a nice book to relax into after a hard, tough day. Thank you for the recommendation.
