Shaan war mir auch gleich symphatisch. Ich konnte mich gut in sie hineinverstetzen und ihre Geschichte problemlos folgen. Tallis steckt voller Geheimnissen. Ich konnte ihn nicht genau beurteilen und ich wusste auch nicht ob ich ihn symphatisch finden soll oder nicht. Man liest aus abwechselnder Sicht von Shaan und Tallis. Interessant fand ich dabei, das die Reiter mit ihren Drachen im Geiste kommunizieren konnten. Ich war sofort in der Handlung gefangen und kam auch nicht mehr so schnell wieder heraus.
Azoth, der grausame Herr der Drachen, versammelt seine Armeen, um das Reich Sarantium zu unterwerfen. Nur ihr Zwillingsbruder Tallis steht weiterhin zu ihr. Die Farben passen alle sehr gut und es harmoniert alles miteinander. Ich wollte dieses Buch lesen, weil es hier um Drachen geht und ich diese einfach nur toll finde. Dies ist der zweite Band und ich gestehe ich habe den ersten nicht gelesen.
Das macht hier aber nichts, also mir zumindest nicht, denn ich konnte trotzdem der Geschichte folgen.

Ich war hier ab der ersten Seite total im Buch versunken. Hier wird eine Spannung aufgebaut die einem einfach zwingt weiter zu lesen. Die Protagonisten sind alle gut heraus gearbeitet und auch hier mag man den einen mehr und den anderen halt weniger. Die Handlung wurde meiner Meinung nach gut durchdacht und es passt alles gut. Ich gebe hier 4 von 5 Sternen. Bist du die Rettung — oder das Verderben? Kann sie ihm widerstehen? Man kann also schon einmal festhalten, dass die Geschichte um Shaan und Tallis sehr spannend ist.
Und trotzdem fand ich das Buch sehr gut. Noch scheint ihr Weg lang und hart zu sein.

Was mich ebenfalls verwunderte, sind eingeleitete Antithesen, die in keinem Bezug zum zuvor Gesagten kontrastierend sind. Beispielsweise den spezifischen Haarstil des Stammes der Figur Tallis — neben Shaan eine sehr bedeutende Rolle bekleidend. Auch sind nicht wenige Orte traumhaft, wenngleich man wenig von ihnen aufgrund schnell wechselnder Handlungsorte mitbekommt, und teilweise war der Schreibstil doch gut zu lesen. Billy and Jimmy narrowly get away, and seek refuge in the Power Corps hideout. They ultimately fail and are forced to flee, but Jimmy is captured in the process. Billy and Marian return to the Power Corps base, and lament about how none of them have been able to figure out how to use their Dragon piece. Marian points out a discovery they made that the wearer of the medallion is immune to the powers of its counterpart, meaning Shuko is not able to possess him as long as he has it.
Suddenly, the gangs attack the hideout. Billy is elated; however, Jimmy is merely being controlled by Shuko as he tries to pummel his brother into submission. Knowing this, Shuko threatens to kill Jimmy instead. Shuko unites the halves and turns into a pair of shadow warriors with katanas that disintegrate anything they slice through.
The Lee brothers fight, but cannot beat him. Billy and Jimmy attack, forcefully recombining the shadows into Shuko, and acquire the Double Dragon halves. The brothers pummel Shuko, and Jimmy possesses him to make him do embarrassing things.
