Kate Adams is nothing at all like her brother, and manages to get thoroughly mixed up in the double murder investigation, the supervillain underworld, and—unexpectedly—the life of Jeffry Floyd. But he never cares until they get someone else into trouble—someone he relies on too much to risk offending.

Floyd vows to get them back, but Adams declines his assistance. Floyd never did know how to take a hint, and devises an elaborate scheme to trick Adams into coming with him. Everything important to him seems suddenly insignificant. When he receives word that Floyd might be alive, he's almost afraid to believe it. It's been a heck of a ride, but it was worth it. The supervillains are using politics and some other sneaky tactics to try to take over London, and Floyd has to And so it falls to someone else to foil the chief villainess's plan. The best writing and pacing of the series so far. I found the most typos in this too, but those'll be fixed in the new edition.

If my fangirling over the previous 5 books hasn't convinced you to read the series, well, your loss. This one doesn't make sense without book 5 anyway. Although, if I didn't know better, I'd say the author is intentionally trying to give me a crush on Adams, too. As if Floyd wasn't bad enough.

Picking up where Dreams and Shadows left off, this one brings things to a good close It keeps the dark turn the previous installment took, which I think was definitely the right decision. It wrapped up the season pretty well, and gave us more insight into the characters, which is my favorite thing! I'll be curious to see what season two holds.
