I purchased The Little Rose for my four year old daughter. She loved the illustrations and the story. She said that the weeds were "mean" and they made The Little Rose "sad". She loved the vivid colors, pink is her favorite, and was happy when the rose was moved to be with the "nice flowers".

I enjoyed reading this to my daughter and experiencing The Little Rose's journey through her eyes, because it is such a positive message. As an award-winning and best-selling author in Education myself, I work with parents and students a lot. I will be recommending this book to all my parents with little ones. Not only is the self-esteem message powerful, the book also expands your students vocabulary.

Eventually, a lady discovers the rose and takes her to a more suitable home. In fact, she had a delightful spot right in the afternoon sunshine with plenty of room to stretch out and grow. The Little Rose had the opportunity to spend time with the negative weeds and the beautiful roses and the different experiences demonstrate how a life can be greatly influenced by simply taking responsibility for your life and not letting others dictate your future.

They thought she was beautiful and were happy to have her in their flowerbed.

The roses spent their days admiring the sunshine and befriending butterflies and birds. They were much too busy enjoying life and feeling gratitude to criticize and compete with each other. Once The Little Rose found her new home she was immediately surrounded by the good and positive that the other roses demonstrated.

My daughter asks to read it again and again, always getting excited to see the little rose bloom. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for their next child book purchase. You can't go wrong with "The Little Rose.
