Trusting Deception (Killing Perfection Book 2)

Books by Heather Anderson

I will say that I almost stopped reading at Chapter 10 because it was making me so upset. My heart was pounding and at times I was crying so hard I couldn't read the words - some scenes were so raw and powerful that I literally felt sick at certain points. After a pep talk from a fellow beta reader I pushed on. So glad that I did. It's my third read from this author and it's so very different from her other t Ummmm I'm not even sure how I'm going to review this book. It's my third read from this author and it's so very different from her other two books. I will write a more detailed review once the blurb etc is revealed but trust me when I say you want this on your TBR.

Sophia, poor Sophia, I just want to find her and hug her and never let go! What she suffers and survives. Not many people do. She breaks, but only for a moment, her body is the one that gives out. She thinks they broke her completely b Speechless. Her heart is of a fighter. She never gave in to them.

She is a survivor. Even his name gives me goosebumps. As a reader we are completely drawn to him. He was beyond swoonalicious. You may find him in my book boyfriend dungeon. Can I get more of Garrett too please??? The overprotective absent brother. Gahh he was so delicious to read about. I want more of him too please. I need anxiety meds hard!

And apparently I was not so speechless but can ya blame me???? Read at your own risk. But damn what a hell of a ride it is. From the beginning, this one held me captive. Sophia has been taken against her will and we get thrown immediately into her living nightmare. It starts out very intense and very disturbing and I may have been a tad scared.

After being saved from her kidnappers, things settle down a bit but Sophia starts to realize that things are not as they seem. She realizes there is so much she doesn't understand. The charater development was so well done and I enjoyed trying to fit pieces of the puzzle together with Sophia.

Who should she trust? Is she truly safe??? Then there is Diavolo Creed Sabella He is danger personified but Sophia cannot deny his magnetism. The attraction is palpable and while Creed may be a silent, deadly threat to others, he is a fierce protector for Sophia. He tries to push Sophia away for a long time because he wants to protect her from even himself.

However, their animal magnetism is not to be denied. It seems like Sophia is safe for now and she is in a good place with Creed. Her world turns upside down again. The twist was not completely unexpected but I was not prepared for everything that followed this turning point in the story. If you're a dark romance lover and a fan of anti-heroes, just go grab this one now but be warned there is a HUGE cliffy. Book 1 of 2 Chaos series Heat Level: Moderate Cliffhanger Follow me for your next comfort read! This one came out with a bang from all corners!!

I honestly had no clue how this was going to play out but I never expected the dark intensity and brutal passionate moments. But you know what they say about being comfortable in your own space? What happens when the life you had suddenly gets taken away from you? How do you get that back? Being a fighter just became her new shield and for better or worse, this girl is not going down without a fight.

Creed is an a league of his own. But Sophie has different plans for this brooding bad boy and when they find themselves in danger again, everything changes. I have to say that I really loved this one!! It was raw and brutal and yes I did cringe a few times, I loved it!! I loved the intensity, the desire, the fight and I loved this heroine.

Sophie was remarkable, and I really admired her strength and drive. I wanted to smack Creed a few times because quite frankly, he made me stabby but I grew to love him and respect what he was trying to do. Now as for the cliffhanger, fuuuuuuuuuuck!!! Oct 26, Chele' rated it it was amazing. The unthinkable Scary Heart pounding Eye opening Dark Shocking Unforgettable "There are some forms of quietude that are so mute, yet loud, that you can feel them— physically feel them in your bones. I don't even have the words. At first I didn't think that I would make it through the beginning of the book.

It's painfully raw and disturbingly real but I kept going because the writing is impeccable This is one hell of a story! It feeds off my pain and suffering, tarnishing my psyche, blackening my soul. I didn't think I could get past the first chapter, it was difficult but Deception and Chaos has so many layers in this book that are absolutely beautiful and mind blowing to go through. I don't want to spoil a thing! Go into this blind but prepare yourself because I went through an array of emotions from fear and suspicion to glee and confusion.

There's deceit, bravery, redemption, blood, love, lust That much I know. Soto took chances, the plot was fresh and amazing and I haven't been able to get this story out of my heart. His thumb slides erotically along my lips and dips into my mouth, and my lips automatically wrap around his thumb, nipping and sucking against the pad of his finger.

From page one you are thrown into the things that nightmares are made from. Reminded me of two of my other favourite authors, Ker Dukey and K Webster. No spoilers on this one! Oct 15, Book Maniac Forever rated it it was amazing Shelves: Soto reached out to me for reviewing Deception and Chaos , I was really intrigued and interested by the premise of the novel, but nothing could have prepared me for the level of love I had for this exhilarating story!

These moments are emotional and gripping, but the appearance of Creed in her dark world is so brilliant! That man is just the perfect anti-hero! Peeling his multiple layers was pure delight! I swooned so hard over him. I can now count Creed as one of my absolute favorite hero!!! As much as I loved him, Sophia is also a remarkable heroine! I enjoyed immensely her interactions with him where she shows a sassy and determined side! She sees more than the ruthless man in him and goes for it. If I wasn't careful, the beautiful dangerous devil could destroy me.

The high level of combustible attraction between Sophia and Creed left me breathless more than once. They also gave me chills, palpitations and hot flashes. I was a mess of sensations. They incited such potent physical reactions from me with all the feels! I just wanted them to succumb to the temptation! This story is so much more than a romance, with the captivating mystery behind the whole kidnapping and human trafficking. Soto can now count me in as an ardent fan of her writing! Deception and Chaos is a new top favorite read of the year for me! View all 4 comments. I don't know what to say!!!

SM Soto has been true to this story. Dark and twisted, is what she gave, a surprisingly good read that will have you hooked, gobsmacked and then BAM Now, tbh at first it was hard for me to continue with this story cause at first it lacked in a way that I didn't feel connected, now when Sophia was found my thoughts changed and I don't know what to say!!!

Now, tbh at first it was hard for me to continue with this story cause at first it lacked in a way that I didn't feel connected, now when Sophia was found my thoughts changed and I was hooked, I couldn't not leave it hanging. The feelings between Sophia and her brother Garrett, you can feel the emotions of siblings. Also, Sophia and Creed it took a while for me to actually connect them two together, but just his grey eyes and his dark soul and Sophia's persistence made her character witty and strong-willed and even funny.

The characters throughout the story are strong and you'll click with them where they play a part and the twist you think you know will totally keep you wondering. Can't wait for the next book!! Oct 18, Marjorie W. I'd say the book definitely started off with a bang and I got invested really easily. However, I enjoyed the first half more so than I did the second half and I don't really blame the book for that. I blame the hype online. Unfortunately mistakes are still made, advices are not followed and the readers as soon as they begin smiling, they once more start getting worried.

Lots of mixed emotions. The series feels like a rollercoaster that has just finished its third slope and you are holding your breath until you reach your fourth steep slope and you start falling. You thought we had issues before, you had no idea, this one ends with an even bigger cliffy and had me screaming at my Kindle. I swe Holy moly batman, this series, Aleatha you are killing me!! I swear this series is addictive. With every book I get involved even deeper. My theories are getting more complicated and I just need to know how things will end. I need to know how deep these lies go and to know if I am right. There is one thing I have learned since I started this series, Aleatha is truly talented.

I mean this woman has created this other world and seeing how deep everything goes just amazes me. With every book I am so afraid I will lose track of something or forget, but as I begin the story it all begins coming back to me. If you love suspense, mystery and as sexy as hell story I recommend starting this one. I am addicted to these two and love how the complete each other. I am also addicted to knowing what will come next and seeing just how crazy off my theories are. ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

Deception and Chaos

Nox blew me away with his passion and charm and it's always so endearing when you see an Alpha male hero like him, open up and show his more vulnerable side. What a fantastic book, I loved it!!! I have to say that my most favorite thing about this author is her creativity and her talent to throw the reader for a loop. You never know what you are going to get when you open an Aleatha Romig novel. I loved learning more about the secondary characters in this story. In the beginning, I had nothing but hate for both Charli's mother and Nox's father.

But in this part of the story, we discover the truth behind some of the secrets and I hate to say it but, sometimes, villains can also be victims. I think each person who reads this will have a different opinion in whether to understand or condemn the actions of these characters. Not to say that I have suddenly forgiven them for their cruelty, but I guess I can understand them better and that certainly added depth to this already intriguing series. In this story, every character is so complex and there are so many layers to the Deception that it's very hard to decipher what is going to happen next or even who to trust.

Both families are so deep in the lies, that I honestly can't see how we'll get to a conclusion without our hearts getting broken in the process. I'll leave it to the author to continue to deliver more thrilling entertainment. Finally, I want to talk about the Everest size cliffhanger, a total jaw dropper, but I'm not going to lie, it actually makes me want to go back and re-read all these books again, in search of more clues. I love the mystery and the sensuality of these novels. A total winner for me, just what the doctor ordered.

We are given more of the background of Nox and Charli and how their lives are somewhat connected. The way the author sprinkles the past throughout the story helps to brings the story full circle.

There are still so many who, what, hows and whys Deception starts right where Cunning stopped. It was an OMG moment so I was thrilled to be able to jump right in. This book is where Nox and Charli really begin to open up to one another. They both have shadows in their past that cloud over them.

They believe and trust in one another and with that the walls that they have begin to come down. I loved seeing their relationship grow in this book. Oren's, Nox's father, past is revealed more in this book. The uncanny connection to the Montague Family and to Adelaide is brought to light. The story's revelations of the past and the present is becoming a wild and bumpy ride in true Aleatha fashion.

There is also a discovery that Adelaide finds that can forever change things for her and Alexandria except maybe someone has found out her discovery. As I have said, there are so many moving parts to the story- more hows, when, where and whys!!! Of course the ending I'm a little mixed about it as it was an Aleatha'd moment for sure!!! But one thing about this incredible author is that she is more than willing to listen to your worries. No matter your feelings, Aleatha Romig hears you out and talks you out of your strife.

At least they were interesting and Adelaide finally realizes that she has a head and that she can use it. To be cl Unpopular opinion time This book fed me up, it took me almost 3 weeks to read a pages book. All the chemistry between Nox and Charli is gone, their dialogues are empty and very robotic, like they say what they are supposed to say but don't really put their heart in the conversation anymore.

And the storyline was soooo predictable. Alexandria acts like a complete idiot which is very OOC compared with how she used to be in Betrayal. Lennox is creepier than ever: I don't want to think about this book anymore, I don't want to waste more of my time because of it, so I'll stop this review full of disappointment here and I'll do my best to move on. Actually, scratch that, this book is way ahead. It's in a league of it's own. When Tyler returns, his newest mission is to recapture the heart of his lost love. Mackenzie is his lighting strike, the air he needs to breathe. Without her, living has no meaning. Returning, Tyler and Mackenzie struggle to familiarize themselves with the other.

Full disclosure, the truth and communication. Tyler had to work hard to get back in Mac's good books. This was such a descriptive part of the novel. Where they reunited and started all over again. The discomfort at times, the pleasure, the familiarity and unyielding love that shone through each of their eyes.

These two knew how to overcome obstacles and turn the negativity into team work. Tyler became the epitome of a doting lover, and ever remorseful of his past actions. I loved how the entire plot came together, even as it unravelled more. With some devastating surprises, and some even more joyful discoveries. Tyler's family shone throughout this instalment. His mother Colleen is such a wonderfully strong, and inspiring woman and mother. Slaying the Dragon is one of those books that will emotionally devastate the reader, emitting strong feelings towards the characters, and leaving the reader vulnerable to the entire tale.

Even mystified at the suspenseful outcome. This story continues to prove that only friendship and love can survive all trials. Always remember, perfection is a fallacy. Love was finding that one person who made you laugh, cry, smile, hope, crave, want, lust, and grow. I had that with Tyler and I refused to let it go. I knew I would do everything to keep this man at my side My beautiful, caring, selfless mystery man.

When Mackenzie discovered the real reasoning as to why Tyler got close to her, she never accounted for the emotional mess that Tyler would inflict on her heart.

Those weeks she spent with him was forever ingrained in her heart and something that memories couldn't erased. Her heart, body, and mind belonged to him emotionally and physically. She ached for him especially when he disappeared from her life for almost 4 months. Four months where she was questioning her sanity if Tyler was ever real. Was their love ever real? So when Tyler returns home, he tries to earn back Mackenzie's love and trust. And he will stop at nothing until he slays all the dragons that stands in their way.

The book burns right into your heart and soul. She relinquished control for the first time in her life…for him. Mack has to forget intriguing and incredible Tyler, who not only melted her panties, but her heart too. She is wearing the badge of betrayal, and must find a way to move on and away from Tyler, despite the portion of her heart he still has captive. He had become my lightning strike, just as he had sworn I was his.

She is holding his mind hostage while he must give her the space she needs, even if it is tearing his heart apart.

See a Problem?

He was confident and sure, unmoved by my tried-and-true diversion techniques to get a guy to leave me alone. Hopefully, lightning strikes twice before it becomes a staggering storm that could get deadly. Leigh flawlessly wrapped up this powerful piece of perfection, leaving me with an aching hangover. Mystery, suspense, passion, all-consuming love. They say that it takes ages to learn to trust someone but only one lie to ruin it.

This was basically the premise of Mack and Tyler's story. For someone who had a hard time trusting people, Mack's world crumbled when she found out about Tyler's deception. But not everything is always black and white; more often than not, we are dealt with gray areas. The circumstances surrounding them were not as simple as they seemed. Will their love for each other prove to be stronger than the mountain of lies on which it was built?

Can she find the truth amidst the lies? What I enjoyed most about this book was the fact that there was a lot going on - conspiracy, military cover-up and a whole lot more - but it never strayed from the love story between Mac and Tyler. All the elements of the story were done in a cohesive and solid manner that kept the story running smoothly and allowed the events that transpired to develop in a logical way which the readers can easily follow. At the same, at its core was this one great, all-consuming love between two people who were caught in the crossfire.

Even when all the necessary descriptions and suspense were taking place, it did not take over the whole story. It was brilliantly incorporated in the pains, love and sufferings of Mac and Tyler. The way the characters' broken and devastated emotions were portrayed was brilliant. It was easy to feel and imagine what they were going through.

There was something the author did that really threw me for a loop regarding one character in this book. If only for that, I gave my hats off to the author because not only was it unexpected, but it was a total contradiction to what I believed in when I read the first book. I'm not making any sense, I know, but trust me when I say it was the mother of all surprises. The author definitely knows how to draw you in and keep you intrigued. Suffice it to say that just like the first book, the conclusion to Tyler and Mac's story was a sure hit for me. You'd think that after reading each and every one of T.

K Leigh's books, It would be easier to review them. Well, you thought wrong because this woman left me once again with no words. I'm not sure what the hell is going on in this little head of hers, but HELL I love this little brilliant head! I received an ARC for an honest review and I'm so grateful for that because I had the time to process everything.

As you all read on Chasing the Dragon, the roller coaster and the cliffhanger at the end was You'd think that after reading each and every one of T. As you all read on Chasing the Dragon, the roller coaster and the cliffhanger at the end was mind blowing! They're both staying apart from each other for a while and struggle through it. But when the struggle becomes too hard, forgiveness and trust becomes their main one. While they're trying to figure out how to re-build their relationship, the investigation about Mackenzie's father is getting more and more complicated and new revelations makes them fight for everything they have.

I can't say nothing more about the plot without revealing spoilers so get yourselves ready for a hell of a ride with this breathtaking story, full of suspense, surprises and heart warming love. Oh, and TK, if you have more of this perfect Burnham Blood around you, you know where to send it right??? I'm still single… Just sayin'… Thank you, again and again and again for being such a genius! Words practically escape me Slaying the Dragon is raw, edgy, unpredictable, and deliciously sexy!

It is skillfully written with an excellent story-line and characters that aren't just characters, but are real people; people with real feelings, real struggles, and real strengths. People you can't help but care for. From the cover to the very last page, T. Leigh has written a story that is captivating, intriguing, addictive, sexy, intense, gritty, thought provoking It is a story that once you start reading, you won't want to put it down and it will stay with you for days after reading it.

Slaying the Dragon has every possible thing you want in a book This is the second book and conclusion to the Deception Duet and wow, you could not ask for a better book. You can't book this book down, it's just that good. Leigh takes us on a journey of emotions and the ride does not disappoint. I wanted to approach this book like it was a high-priced antique. I wanted to look at the beauty of the cover and the intrigue of the synopsis. I didn't want to rush it. I wanted to savor it. I would devour it whole, and I would look up and it would be over and I would be sad.

My plan was to take it slow, but after staring at the cover and re-reading bits and pieces of Chasin I wanted to approach this book like it was a high-priced antique. My plan was to take it slow, but after staring at the cover and re-reading bits and pieces of Chasing The Dragon, Book 1 in the series, where it all began, I shot my plan all to HELL! There was no going back, and suddenly I didn't care anymore. Leigh has THAT much power of me. She is just too DAMN good at what she does!

Leigh once again, works her magic in the last installment of the Deception Duet series. She knows how to reel readers in from the get-go. With unforgettable characters and a suspenseful, sexy, and adventurous storyline, you will be hooked until the very last word is read.

From the very beginning, there has been twists around every corner. I know you have questions. I had A LOT! If you are looking for something sexy, edgy, captivating, and emotionally gripping, the Deception Duet by T. Leigh is definitely for you! It is a MUST READ in my book, and it will always have a special spot on my bookshelf where I can look at it from afar and pick it up whenever the mood strikes, which will probably be quite a bit.

The Burnham boys are hard, determined, controlled and intense lovers. Tyler is much like Alex in this. Leigh takes us through the highs and lows, the twists and turns, and the ups and downs of figuring out whodunit and how the pieces of the puzzle fit together. It was love, of that I am certain. It was for me anyway. This was an epic, wild, messy love affair! Oh, how I wanted to throttle you both at times while reading this book! I am not going into a summary at all with this review because if I do, we will be here all day. And what you see in that light, is not at all what you expected.

There is also a love story behind all the mystery. And in that love story is a message of forgiveness. One that sometimes we all need to remember. I have read every single book published by this author and have seen how the writing style has grown and progressed. I do have to say, though, that it was a little hard to follow at some points, and the characters at least to me seemed a bit immature.

Slaying the Dragon is the second book and the conclusion to the Deception Duet. Let me tell you this was rightly named the Deception Duet because this book keeps you glued to the pages wondering just who is deceiving who. From page-one my heart began to race and my blood pressure was rising with all that begins to unfold for Mackenzie and Tyler. Slaying the Dragon is filled with so much emotion and tension, both sexual and otherwise.

What's great about this duet is that not only do you feel Tyle Slaying the Dragon is the second book and the conclusion to the Deception Duet.
