The blurb made this book sound like a good idea when I first read it see what I did here? I was all in for seeing Mari get revenge on the person who bullied her and then having her see how much Cole has changed and end up falling in love with him. I wasn't all in for her stupid reaction to that leaked video. Before that I liked Mari. She seemed strong and she had a good head on her shoulders.

Then she jumped to stupid conclusions about that video and I just lost The blurb made this book sound like a good idea when I first read it see what I did here? Then she jumped to stupid conclusions about that video and I just lost any warm feelings I had about her. Her reasoning made zero sense. It was a damn shame. I even forgave her for jumping so soon into a relationship with her former bully and getting a bird for him.

Why would she do that so soon after being with him? Anyway, I was able to forgive Cole for been a bully in high school for two reasons. A He wasn't truly a mean person, he was just hanging around the bad crowd and b he has become a great man who actually tries to stop the bullies. He has learned from his mistakes and I liked that about him. He is a good person. The book is the first in a new series and the rest of the books are going to be about the other members of Jaded Ivory. I want to read the next books and I hope to see a better-paced book. This one had some bumps and for me, it needed some work, but overall it was good.

Sep 22, Brianna at Renee Entress's Blog rated it it was amazing. Rebecca Brooke just wrecked me in the best way possible. I could tell from that blurb that this book was going to be pretty amazing but what I just finished reading was so fucking epic y'all Rock Me was a sexy, emotional, addicting, and captivating romance that hooked me before I even started. I'm not sure what I expected when I began this journey but what I got was unforgettable. My feels wer 5 Stars! My feels were all over the place and Rebecca tugged at a deep deep part in my heart. Redemption is the key to their forever.

When he enters her life again, he's going to shake up her world and prove he's not the man from their past. Mari and Cole are going to find a second chance and maybe, just maybe, if they open their hearts, their everything. Watching Mari and Cole was breathtaking Rebecca Brooke never disappoints when I read her books and that's why I come back, time after time.

I highly recommend this book. Aug 31, Amy rated it liked it Shelves: This time there weas a promise. A promise of more. It was like an inferno was racing through me, burning nerve endings along the way. I felt sexy and desirable. I thought the idea of the story was unique and it definitely intrigued me.

Fast forward to the future, Mari is not the same shy person she was in high school, she has totally reinvented herself. At first, I thought that Mari was just a conquest to him; that he had to get with the unattainable girl. I was pleased to see that Cole has matured a lot since high school and I do think that he was genuinely sorry for his past mistakes.

The only real issue I had with the story was the actual relationship with Cole and Mari. Personally, I feel that these two would have been better off as friends. I mean off the charts hot chemistry. And I totally get that Cole is sorry and has grown since high school, but I just had the hardest time wrapping my mind around forgiving him and pursuing a romantic relationship.

So, overall, this book was an ok read. Rock Me is definitely a book that you can finish in just one sitting. I thought it was written well and it does deal with some heavy hitting and real issues. I would be open to reading more from this author in the future. Up and coming rockstar heroine, Mari, just ran into Cole, who just happens to be one of her tormentors from high school. Cole not recognizing Mari is captivated by her after seeing one of her shows.

Which makes things even more complicated especially when he finds out who Mari 3. Which makes things even more complicated especially when he finds out who Mari really is and her plan backfires. Parts of the story were difficult to read, especially Mari's flashbacks of high school. The things she went through Though Cole wasn't the ringleader, he definitely didn't do anything to help her. High school Cole was a flat-out jerk. No wonder Mari had issues with him.

See a Problem?

"Rock Me" is a song by English-Irish boy band One Direction from their second studio album, Take Me Home (). It was written by Peter Svensson, Sam. "Rock Me" is a song recorded in by Swedish pop group ABBA, with Björn Ulvaeus singing the lead vocals. It was first released on the album ABBA.

Grown up Cole is far different from the jerk he was in high school. There were some scenes where he came off as stalkerish, but I easily let it slide since he came off as nothing but sincere in his pursuit of Mari. Sep 20, Leslie Ooten rated it liked it. I'm a little conflicted about this book. I've never read this author before, so I'm always happy when I find one that can capture my attention from the beginning.

The writing flows well, and the characters are developed nicely. Here is where my conflict comes in. My main complaint was with Mari. I was not a popular kid in high school, but once I left high school, that's where that stuff stayed. Mari is 23 and still letting all the crap from then rule her life. I understand that it sucks, but you I'm a little conflicted about this book.

I understand that it sucks, but you're an adult now, YOU have the choice whether to let it bother you or not. How can she all of a sudden get mad and cut off all contact from something that she has already been through?! I could understand if it was a new video of him bullying someone now, but it's not! It makes absolutely no sense to me.

I thought they were good together when they let the past stay in the past. I would like to see what happens with the rest of the band members. I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book WoW This was a sad, happy, angst, angry, romantic book. And just so much feels that I can't even describe it Mari Cosmann is a singer.

But until she started singing in her best friend's band, she wasn't too keen on being the center of attention. But after singing with her friends Sawyer's band she quickly find out that that is exactly what she wanted to do, she found her passion. Cole Wallace was a NFL superstar, until an unfortunate accident changed his career path and now he is a teacher and teaching high school football. His life is not what he pictured it would be but he is fine with where he is at now.

Until his friend takes him out on a night of drinking and relaxing and he hears Mari sings. He knows that he wants her and he will do anything to have her. So imagine his surprise when she is not so eager to be with him, because he is certainly not that bad looking. Until he finds out why she doesn't want anything to do with him. Cole Wallace and his friends was Mari's bullies in high school. A fact that Cole is not to happy to look back on. But he can't believe how he treated her in high school, and now she is the one that he can't forget.

How will he show her that he is not that person anymore. That he has changed. And even though he knows that she might feel something for him, will he be able to convince her that they are meant to be together or will the hurt that he inflicted on her be too much for her to overcome. This is a story filled with so much hurt, so much pain, so much heartbreak. There were times I actually felt like my heart was breaking for Mari, but then I was rooting for poor Cole.

You could see that he was not the same person and that he was a changed person.

Rebecca Brooke has once again given me a book I was unable to walk away from. I read an early copy of this story and could not believe this was her first jump into the rocker lifestyle. This was my first book from Ms. Brooke and it definitely will not be my last. I love how the storyline was written and the realism to the story. As someone who grew up being bullied this hit home for me. I wasn't bullied to the point that Mari was but I did find that I can relate to her and the situation.

I truly believe that people can change and that Cole proved himself to her, her band mates and to the world that he has.

So heart wrenching, so heart breaking. This book hit so close to home having been a victim of bullying. Bullying is is just despicable in any form. I loved seeing how Mari was able to build herself up with the help of her friend Sawyer and her band mates. Her strength to overcome her insecurities was admirable. Cole totally won me over. He totally redeemed himself. My chest is so tight after reading this. I m left with the best feeling though.

Dec 06, Charli charlithebookprincess rated it really liked it Shelves: This was my first book by Rebecca Brooke and it did not disappoint! People who love music romances and people who fight to stand up for themselves will love this story. I already can't wait for the next books in this series! I felt it was very well written and had a great flow to it.

It also had a fantastic set of characters Sawyer and Heath I am looking at you , which made this books and out even more. For anyone who has ever been bullied in high school, this is also a bo My Thoughts: For anyone who has ever been bullied in high school, this is also a book for you because that is one of the big topics addressed in this book. I loved the stress on how people can change given the highs and lows that they experience in their life. I know I am certainly not the same person I was in high school. It's all about growing up and going through life, and this book had a lot of it.

She was severely bullied in high school and had to learn to love herself again. However, she was not prepared to find one of her tormentors at a club she was performing at. She was even more unprepared for him to not even recognize her.

2017 Brides!

I loved Mari's strength and vulnerability she showed in this book, and how she didn't just instantly forget the past never happened. Mari showed the power of giving someone a chance to prove they are not the same person they were in high school, which is an important lesson as hard as it is for everyone to learn.

Just because she was giving Cole a change, does not mean she let him get it without her spitfire attitude. Despite this, at the first sign of their past rearing its ugly head, Mari has to decide if she is going to believe the man she knows now or the man she knew in high school. We find Cole working as a P.

Cole is still devastated by this loss, but he is excited to see where his coaching career might go. The first time he tries to talk to Mari, he ends up getting a drink thrown in his face, and he has no idea why. He is determined to get to know her though so he ends up going to her shows week after week. It doesn't make sense until a situation at school causes a memory of him and his friends bullying Mariella. It suddenly all makes sense why Mari won't give him the time of day. The way he treated Mari in high school makes Cole sick and he is determined to make it up to her however he can.

I felt he genuinely regretted his actions in high school, and wanted the chance to prove to Mari that he is not that same guy. He wanted her to know the real story. I loved Mari and Cole's relationship. It definitely has some major ups and downs, but it was all about giving people a chance to show who they are now. I felt they were very supportive of each other and I loved getting to read about their journey.

I want more of them! I recommend this book to those who love: Sep 23, Elizabeth Horbaczek rated it really liked it. The author is looking for an honest review. Can they be a person that they should have been when they are younger? Are they able to overcome what they have done in the past? Then you can ask these questions. If you have been beaten down so many times in your past, can you get up and make it better? Can you become that better person. This book takes an ugly topic and makes it something pretty amazing. Learning to forgive and move on is the biggest thing in life The author is looking for an honest review.

Learning to forgive and move on is the biggest thing in life. Life throws you curves that you don't see coming and that is what makes life so great. As I tell you this can you remember your childhood? Was there someone that bullied you and bullied you and you didn't know why? Or if you weren't in the right group. You weren't popular or what they expected, they went out of there way to single you out.? This story puts that type of story out.

It isn't right, but it tells a story that many people will know. Mari had a rough high school life. She wasn't popular and because of her love of music she was singled out. The group of jocks thought they were cool and noone would stand up to the biggest bully. Mari has put that all behind her and now has a music career, but on night it blows up in her face. She is confronted by one of the boys that did the hurting in high school, not only that he is hitting on her. Mari is still a little raw and that is what made her so real in this book.

This was my first book from Ms. While reading it I felt sick with everything that Mari went through high school with all the bulling. Rebecca Brooke has once again given me a book I was unable to walk away from. She is confronted by one of the boys that did the hurting in high school, not only that he is hitting on her. Cole is currently an assistant coach for a high school football team.

She shows her feelings and what all that was done to her did to her. It is amazing what a great woman she turned out to be and even more when she gets to confront someone that has done her wrong. Cole, oh he was a jerk in school. When his friend Ryan takes him out after work to see a band, he can't seem to get the lead singers voice out of his head. He hits on her and well lets just say that doesn't go so well. Cole has come a long way in this book. You can really hate the boy he was, and I did, and you can really love the man he became.

Cole has to figure out how to get Mari to forgive him for what he has done to her. Mari has to learn to forgive the past. These two have a long road ahead of them and it's not for sure that they will make it. The other band members help the story along, because they see what this has done to Mari and all they want is the best for her.

One in particular, Sawyer, has been with her a very long time and they have become attached to each other, almost inseparable. This will come into play partially in the book.

One Direction - Rock Me ( Live From San Siro ) HD

The story comes alive and shows the affects of what happens in high school. I just want to say, no one really realizes what impact people have on you. Everyone does things, good and bad, the bad seems to follow you more than the good. When you can make the bad, good that is when you know you have become the person you want to be.

It is a shame that young people don't realize that and don't realize Oct 03, Chrissy rated it it was amazing Shelves: Rebecca Brooke has written a beautiful story of overcoming bullying, finding yourself, strength and forgiveness. Rock Me is an amazing read, that once I picked up, I was unable to put down!

Mari has spent years trying to overcome everything she went through in high school and forgetting the girl she used to be. Learning from what she went through and becoming stronger every day. She still has insecurities, but with the help of Monty, Jackson, Heath, and Sawyer, her band-mates, she works through them, and is happy with her life. Everything is going fine, until Cole steps into her life again, and has no clue who she is.

Both of them are not the same people that they were in high school and both of them learned from the things that they went through. Mari never deserved the things she was put through, and it definitely shaped her life, and her giving Cole a shot really showed the type of person she was. I loved watching her and Cole work through getting to know one another again, and some of the guys scheming to get her to talk to him. Sawyer and Cole definitely had a bit of a hard time hitting it off since Mari was closest to them both, so I was definitely interested to see how this dynamic was going to play out as the book went on, and I loved how it all worked out!
