Agency novels and Fantasy Lover. Um, why have I not read the rest of her books yet?

Fire and Ice The first novella was from her League series and holy buckets, I really wish it was a full length novel. Makes it easier to dive in. Well, it will be once I read and return those 26 library books I have out right now. Knightly Dreams The second novella was ok, not my favourite of the trifecta. A fun little fantasy that explores what reality really is and how we are in charge of our own destinies. Dragonswan The third was really good, if a bit hard to follow.

I'm thinking this is where reading the Dark- or Were-Hunters books beforehand would have come in handy. Still, I love me some tattooed men and I love me some shapeshifters.

Put them together with the magical ingredient of time travel and you have one happy kitty. All told, a highly satisfying and quick read. I recommend it both for readers already familiar with Sherrilyn's worlds and those looking for a better introduction than Fantasy Lover to said worlds. View all 3 comments. Jan 04, Once Upon a Twilight rated it really liked it. This book contains 3 stories of romance, fantasy and magic, they are quick and fun to read.

This is part of Kenyon's League series and always it leaves you with the feeling that you wish there were more books to keep reading without having to wait. Futuristic romances between two characters both physically and mentally damages but with great hearts. They heal each other physically and mentally with their love.

The story behind this one is the concept that a book chooses it's writer before they are completely written and they finish the story. The characters in this book revel against their story and finish it differently using the power of their love. Part of the dark hunter series, even if you haven't read the series, this book is fun and magic. You get your heroine, your good looking-hot dragon and you get your fantasy love story.

What more can you ask, maybe that it could have been longer, Great book to introduce yourself to these series if you are not familiar with them. May 01, Mary rated it it was amazing. My favorite quotes from this book: Who knows which one. Since they're all pretty much soup, it could be Theo shook his head, "You know, Adron, if you want to spend the night with me, ther My favorite quotes from this book: Theo shook his head, "You know, Adron, if you want to spend the night with me, there are easier ways of going about it.

You could just ask. Watching Spike prance around and be all Spikey, versus a couple hundred years of making love to a Greek god. My copy of this only contained The League short story - though I have read both of the other shorts in hardover and given each of them a 5star rating as well. This review is just for The League short story.

Loved this short which had us visiting with Adron one of Nyk's sons who had been severely injured during his time as a League Assassin and his lady-love, princess on the run Livia. Adron's alcoholism and Livia's sheltered life make them seem an unlikely couple but I liked these two together a My copy of this only contained The League short story - though I have read both of the other shorts in hardover and given each of them a 5star rating as well.

Adron's alcoholism and Livia's sheltered life make them seem an unlikely couple but I liked these two together a lot. Their story was quite sweet and brought a glimpse of terra firma life in this series. The conflicts for this couple were more accessible as was the way of reacting to them. Brief appearances by familiar faces round out this one sitting read. Sep 01, Jessica rated it really liked it. My heart broke for him and all his sorrows. I was so glad that he found happiness with Livia.

They needed each other and made each other whole. This was a great start to this collection of stories. Hawk was a super gorgeous knight who was stuck in a half finished book and he was brought to life by Taryn. I enjoyed this one but not as much as the first one.

Dragonswan OK this was the last story in this book and it is the beginning of the were hunters. I loved it and I loved that it was about dragons. Overall, a great compilation of stories. Livia typpa Vista was the absolutely perfect heroine for him. Knightly Dreams I didn't really like this one. Reminiscent of 80s type medieval romances. Kinda mushy and trite. I love me some dragons and Sebastian is currently my favorite.

And Channon ain't bad either. Aug 13, Nicole rated it it was amazing.

This was a great Kenyon collection, I wanted to read this when I finished all the dark-hunter novels but when I saw it had a short story from the league I read those first and I am glad I did, you dont need to but I think I understood Adron's character better having a bit of history on his and his family.

You dont need much history on Sebastian for Dragonswan, honestly if you haven't read the dark-hunter books his character in them is extremely reclusive and you dont see him much anyway. Great r This was a great Kenyon collection, I wanted to read this when I finished all the dark-hunter novels but when I saw it had a short story from the league I read those first and I am glad I did, you dont need to but I think I understood Adron's character better having a bit of history on his and his family.

Great read and I gave it 5 stars for a book of shorts it was more than I expected. Sep 25, Beatrice Drury rated it really liked it. I had read Dragonswan in a standalone book. I love the Dark Hunter series and time travel both so I enjoyed this one even this time around. Knightly Dreams was quite intriguing. I have never read anything like it. Not being a writer myself but possessing a good imagination I can see this as a possibility. No spoilers just read it. Fire and Ice was my favorite. It was sweet with characters to care about.

Ultimately about sacrificial love I was almost disappoi a collection of three stories by Kenyon. Ultimately about sacrificial love I was almost disappointed when it ended.

I wanted to know more. I really enjoyed this book. I actually already owned Dragonswan as a stand alone book, but it was great to read it again. I loved the story of Adron and Livia even though I wish it had been longer. Now I can't wait for Born of Shadows to come out. Finally I really enjoyed the unique spin of Knightly Dreams. Overall this anthology was a great addition to my Kenyon collection.

Apr 15, Exina added it. I've read only Dragonswan by Sherrilyn Kenyon, so no rating here. Jun 29, Nicole rated it really liked it Shelves: I love that series, and the world she created for that series! Jul 21, Laura the Highland Hussy rated it really liked it.

Aug 09, Genea marked it as read-bindups-i-own Shelves: Dragonswan - 5 Stars I thought it was about time I read the short stories in the Hunterverse series and so this is the first one. I did read at least on Were-Hunter book so I understood their origins, and how their mated, but this was a good refresher and it cleared up any missing information or confusion I might have had. Kenyon is really could at what she does, she was able to draw me in and kept me glued and ultimately satisfied in my enjoyment of reading this story. I got a lot o So Far: I got a lot out of it and even though it wasn't a very long story I bonded with the characters right form the start.

As the saying goes, Short and Spicy it is, well not exactly but you get the point. Jun 07, Divania Timmal-Jones rated it really liked it Shelves: I wish Fire and Ice was a full-length novel! This relationship would have been so much more fun to read about than some of the others. It was so nice having a hero who wasn't super duper perfect in every way. Made him a bit more human and relateable. Women can fall in love and be perfectly content without a baby, in case anyone was wonderi I wish Fire and Ice was a full-length novel!

Women can fall in love and be perfectly content without a baby, in case anyone was wondering. Dragonswan As found in Other Worlds anthology which as Sherrilyn Kenyon novellas from her different series. This is book 1.

It is a novella to introduce the Were-Hunter series to the Dark-Hunter series but I am not sure that these characters are in the rest of the series at all. Channon MacRae is a professor and scholar. She has been obsesses with a certain tapestry that depicts a battle between a dragon and a man for years. She is studying the tapestry at the museum w Dragonswan As found in Other Worlds anthology which as Sherrilyn Kenyon novellas from her different series. I knew I liked Sebastian right then and there because he had a sense of humor.

I laughed a lot at some of the things he said that Channon thought were jokes but were actually the truth about being a dragon. She thought it was a joke but he really was there to steal it. Sebastian is strangely attracted to this human female with her shirt buttoned up crooked and her mismatching socks.

He is an ancient Arcadian Sentinel, a human who can shift into dragon form and who slays Katagaria dragons. Katagaria are enemies of the Arcadians. They are animals that can shift into human form. He has to leave in the morning back to his era in time but he wants to spend time with Channon so he asks her out.

Channon agrees to go out with him and then sleeps with him that night. While she is sleeping, Sebastian goes back to the museum and steals the tapestry. His sister made the tapestry centuries ago. It depicts their family history and he needs the tapestry to save his brother from Katagaria dragons who have kidnapped him. The Katagaria dragons want the tapestry because they think it holds some kind of secret. He knows that he only has three weeks to get her to agree to the mating ritual or he will become impotent for as long as Channon lives but he has to get back to his time period to trade the tapestry for his brother or his brother will be killed and he can only time-travel on the full moon at first light.

Neil Gaiman ~ Smoke and Mirrors; Short Fictions and Illusions #Audiobook

The only way a Were-Hunter can take someone else through time is if they agree so he wakes up Channon and she groggily agrees. Channon wakes up on the back of a huge horse back in Saxon England before England was even a country named England. Sebastian explains their dilemma and she is pretty cool with it. She figures that she can learn all about history and then go back on the next full moon if she chooses. Will she choose to mate with Sebastian and live in such a dangerous time or leave him forever and go back to her own time?

Aug 23, Vanessa rated it it was amazing. So I have actually read two of these short stories before in the form of e-books so I'll be reviewing them in a rather mixed order. Though spoilers I love all of them. Last in the compilation of the book, it is actually the first one of Sherrilyn's stories that I ever read.

See a Problem?

Started my fantasy reading career over 50 years ago with the Hobbit and always on the lookout for a great read I absolutely loved Livia. Want to learn more about the Trisani. I was most looking forward to reading Fire and Ice, a short story from The League series my personal favorite series. Driven Short Story Otherworlds Book 9. Dragonswan 5 stars A good story. I found it in a book called Tapestry. I'd gotten it due to my love for Miss Lynn Kurland and discovered a new and very proud love and respect for Sherrilyn Kenyon. The story made me giddy and overjoyed and left m So I have actually read two of these short stories before in the form of e-books so I'll be reviewing them in a rather mixed order. The story made me giddy and overjoyed and left me wanting more of this world of shape-shifters. I mean, what girl doesn't want a dragon who would do anything for her? I mean there is no question about that, Were-Hunters are definitely my favorite form of shifters, probably ever in the world and likely always will be.

Stand alone as far as I know , it's the quintessential dream that every girl has of a man walking straight off the page and into her arms. But it's so much more than just a little fantasy. It also shows the power of a writer and of stories and I think that is probably why it is one of my favorite stories of all time. This was the only one that I had not read before as I'm still fairly new to the League series, though I'm working on fixing that. And, as Sherrilyn is so very good at doing, she made me feel things. I felt feelings and I have to say that I did not like them.

They made me cry. But I absolutely loved the story and I feel that it really built upon the world that Sherrilyn has created in the league novels. No matter which of her series you read or have read or if you're just starting out, In Other Worlds is definitely a good route to meander down to learn about some amazing characters and to find some wonderful stories.

Apr 27, Alasandra Alawine rated it it was amazing. My favorite was Fire and Ice a badly injured Adron Nykyrian and Kiara's son is angry with his brother Jayce for not following the assassins oath and killing him when he found him barely alive. Now he lives in constant pain that he tries to dull by drinking. Livia is fixing to be married off to a man old enough to be her grandfather and there is only one way to stop it, the old goat won't marry her if she isn't a virgin.

So she goes to the bar where Adron is hanging out with the sole purpose of My favorite was Fire and Ice a badly injured Adron Nykyrian and Kiara's son is angry with his brother Jayce for not following the assassins oath and killing him when he found him barely alive.

So she goes to the bar where Adron is hanging out with the sole purpose of losing her virginity. When her Father's guards show up she dives into the booth where Adron is attempting to drink himself into oblivion. She winds up going home with him and she uses her Trisani abilities to temporarily take his pain away and they make love.

When her irate Father shows up to beat her and humiliate her Adron stands up to him and claims Livia as his wife, but shortly after that he collapses. Adron tries to get Livia to divorce him as he does not want her stuck with a cripple but she refuses to go and they fall in love. Livia manages to get Adron to go out in the world more and enjoy as much of the world as he can but when they run into Jayce things take a fatal turn when the two get in a physical fight. Adron is dying and there is nothing they can do to save him when Livia uses her powers to completely heal him.

But the cost is Livia is in a coma and that doctors don't expect her to come out of it. Adron attempts to bring her Mother to her in hopes of saving her. Knightly Dreams and Dragonswan or the other short stories in the book. Dragonswan is a Were-Hunter book and I have read it before. Mar 21, Srisurang rated it it was amazing Shelves: Jul 04, Christina rated it really liked it Shelves: This one reminded me just why I fell in love with her League series.

And while our Hero, Adron, is the typical brooding asshole he's not completely irredeemable. Even going as far as to bind himself to our Heroine to protect her from her family. While a lot of his angst is because of his disability, she understands it, and sympathizes, and even better doesn't get impatient with him. I really enjoyed this one, but I suppose I'm biased as a writer. I like t Fire and Ice: Ghost in the Tower Ghost Night Book 4.
