April is a long time paranormal enthusiast who began her journey into the unknown at the tender age of eight when her family moved into a home rife with activity. Unsatisfied by vague answers to her questions, April began to study various phenomena and was eventually inspired to pursue a career in the paranormal field.

April was presented with the opportunity to travel with Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson to represent the magazine at different events, also assisting with TAPS' merchandising and visiting some of the most famous haunts in the country.
She moved with her twin daughters from Utah to Rhode Island to work in the magazine office in The Paranormal Source has created a unique network of experts consisting of some of the most well-respected names in the paranormal field to serve on their Advisory Board of Directors, including such notables as Rosemary Ellen Guiley, John Zaffis, and Loren Coleman. As the Executive Director, April manages the investigative team, marketing for the corporation, and is also often asked to speak at various paranormal functions. I am a skeptic as I am a ghost hunter Not like the ones on tv that ask for something to happen then run screaming. If you have been curious about the history of spirit communications and current ideas on how it's done this is the book for you.
The author April Slaughter is honest in her approach to this subject. If you are looking for definitive answers you won't find them here. There are ideas, theories and perspectives in this book worth reading. She shares personal details of her life and experiences and adds a perspective on religion from a clergyman's point of view.
Don't look for a dramatic ending to this book.
This isn't a horror story, this is for reader like me who have had lost loved ones and had experiences of their own. If you have watched the ghost hunting shows then I would say read this book. There is more going on with spirit communication then yelling at ghosts and holding a meter expecting answers. I've had the pleasure of meeting April a few times.
She's an amazing young lady with a genuine heart! Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down!
It truly touched me to my core! I felt as though I was right there with her! My tears were flowing at times! If you enjoy learning about the spirit world this is a must have book. God bless you April Slaughter. I find April's view of how to treat those on the other side refreshingly intelligent.
