Joy-Worthy: A Mothers Guide to More Joy, Less Stress and No Guilt

Joy Worthy

Open communication with my spouse, writing down my goals, setting goals and finding positive people to surround myself with to become a happier person. Children need to know they are loved by their mother and when she is home she needs to be present and when she is with friends she is able to enjoy the freedom without worrying about her children.

See a Problem?

I reviewed my own life as I read this book and found that I have a wonderful spouse who helps me find peace by giving me time away from home and encourages me to go out with friends while he stays home with the kids at night. For moms who feel lost in life this book will help you find your way and for moms who think like I did - I have everything I need.

The ramblings, epiphanies and tantrums of a mom …

I think I'll be keeping it on my bookshelf to refer back to certain sections when I need a little mom down time. A great guide to happiness. Than the reader is to journal their feeling, as well as finding heir goals and writing them down. And finally, make the decision every day to love your life. One of the quotes that I read which started of the chapter on Losing yourself to the family really resonated to me. Surround yourself with people who are like the person you want to be. Only when you know what you want out of live then you can live it to the fullest and enrich the lives of those in your family.

The author taught me to write down my goals, journal my feeling, and be more open with my spouse. To find Joy in motherhood we must first mourn the loss of single life, married life and find peace in our lives as mothers. Thank you Heidi, for this review.

Joy-Worthy: A Mother's Guide to More Joy, Less Stress and No Guilt

As I read the book I tried very hard to ignore the tone and grasp what the writer was trying to say and not what was actually being said. My take on this book seems to be completely different from the ot The premise for this book is about rediscovering the you that was lost when you became a mom.

My take on this book seems to be completely different from the other reviewers so clearly I "heard" the message wrong. I walked away feeling like the author wrote this book to justify spending large amounts of time away from her children. I understand needing a break, but it seemed to be the only way to find joy was to leave your children with a babysitter so you could find yourself again. I felt she wasn't promoting Christian reactions to situations, she was negative about certain types of friends, and the vibe about non supportive, joy sucking husbands was to leave them. But the tone of the book did not bring me joy or make me feel less stressed.

The negativity was actually surprising to me and I kept reading to see if I'd been mistaken. Sadly it never got better.

I also realize by writing this review that I will be one of "those women" mentioned in the book. But for the readers who are just like me I felt I had to be honest.
