I will admit that I felt like screaming, " Don't do it Abby," for the majority of the read though. Thankfully, the ending was heartwarming and brought the drama to a happy end. I would recommend this to readers who enjoy a good romance and those who love a good cowboy story. Mar 01, Casey rated it really liked it. The angle of the story was a great way to start the book, when Abigail needs peace and quiet to ease her hypertension. And—ahem—I think she found a pretty good way to do that. There is a definite growth and definition in both of the main characters. As the book came to a close I appreciated the changes they made.

And it affects more than just their physical. The climactic scene was especially well done I thought and the plot was fresh and enlivening. I enjoyed this one. I liked Abigail and while I cringed a little about her decision to write a story about Wade, I did like the way thing wrapped up. I actually would have liked it we could have seen the fall out a little more and what happens when everyone finds out who Wade really is.

Did it really help the town? How was his privacy effected? Anyway, I liked the relationship between Abby and Wade, I kind of wish the romance had been turned up a tad. But, overall its a nice sto I enjoyed this one. But, overall its a nice story and I enjoyed the writing. Religious content I would say is mild-moderate. Not too preachy and does not overshadow the story. Jul 26, Emilee rated it it was amazing Shelves: This was my very first Denise Hunter book! Apr 15, Becca rated it it was ok Shelves: Abigail is an overstressed work-a-holic who was sent on three months vacation by her mother to visit her great Aunt.

While there Abigail meets Wade's daughter and get's roped into being her nanny for the summer. But when she meets Wade for the first time she feels a spark of attraction that she hasn't felt in a long time. Wade was once a famous cowboy but after the tragedy and suspicion following his wife's death he moved himself and his daughter out of the spotlight and to Montana.

Wade also finds himself unwillingly drawn to Abigail, she brings out feelings that he thought he had long since conquered. Both Wade and Abigail suffer from hidden guilts and pasts. But when Abigail learns that her mother's magazine and all the jobs that go with it are about to be fired she decides that she is going to save the magazine. She has the perfect story expose where the famous cowboy disappeared too and to find out the mystery surrounding his wife's death. But things get more complicated for Abigail when her feelings start to get more involved and she questions whether to write the story or not.

As things start to grow between the two both begin to heal old wounds but everything could change once Wade finds out about the story. This is a Christian romance book which I didn't know when I began reading it. I have nothing against this genre but it came as a surprise. I loved Wade I thought he was an amazing character. He held so much guilt over what happened to his wife that he felt he couldn't be close to any other women including his daughter.

He felt that they were all better off without him. I felt for him and understood his hurts, but was glad to see that he was able to heal and overcome some difficult things in his past. Abigail I really liked in the beginning of the book, but I didn't like what she did to Wade. She knew he and his daughter and cared about them both yet she was going to write a story exposing their life and bring in everything Wade tried to get away from.

I found her to be selfish, I know that she was only trying to help the magazine but what she did and how she went about it were very wrong in my opinion. She was naive to believe that Wade would understand, especially since she knew how hard he worked and that he didn't crave attention. I also didn't like how her mother encouraged her to write the story even though she knew how conflicted Abigail was about it, and also how they kept saying God put this opportunity in front of you he wants it.

They were justifying what they wanted by using God as an excuse. I personally thought Wade deserved better than Abigail in the end. It was a nice story and I enjoyed it, but Abigail brought down the book for me a little. Oct 05, Cathy Daniel rated it really liked it. Did this book ever play with my emotions! Even though I'm still mad at Abigail for what she did and her mom I deducted half star for her being a ninny lol. He likes seclusion and has closed his heart off. But when sparks start to fly, can he keep things that way? Abigail is a ver I loved the storyline!! Abigail is a very likeable character, as is Maddy. She's a good person, striving to do good things. Wade is kind of mysterious and seems pretty clueless about the needs of an almost teen daughter, but he's great.

My only pet-peeve which is totally personal , is that by halfway through the book, the dialog was really starting to bother me. There were a TON of fragmented sentences, such as: Nov 20, Book Chick Tori rated it really liked it. This was my first book by Denise Hunter And I really, really liked it! Abigail was a sweetheart, and Wade was a hot, mysterious cowboy. I totally got wrapped up in the story and stayed up way too late reading.

At one point I wanted to stop reading because view spoiler [ I just couldn't handle it if Abigail screwed their relationship up by writing that article!! I wanted them to work out so badly!!! Jul 27, Mackenzie Carol rated it it was amazing. When I found I had some extra time to read whatever I wanted, I knew I absolutely had to read this series. And, just like I expected, this book was fantastic! Abigail Jones was not my favorite character throughout a decent amount of this book. I wanted to love her for who she was, and I do now, but it was just so difficult for me to get past the horrible mistakes she was making!

Wade Ryan was definitely my favorite character in this novel. All through this book his struggle with the death of his wife is by far the most charming thing, and you cannot help but want everything to turn out well for him. The more I got to know him, the more I loved him, for his sweetness and compassion and love for his daughter.

I think the ending was my favorite part, but I really loved it all. This review is from my blog, spreadinghisgrace. Apr 21, Cheryl rated it liked it. Abigail Jones is a workaholic. This is why her mother demands that she go spend the summer with her Aunt Lucy in Moose Creek, Montana. The first thing that Abigail has on her mind when she gets there is Wi-Fi. To her devastation, her Aunt has no internet. Though she does inform Abigail that the main house has internet.

So when, Maddy takes a liking to Abigail and asks her to be her nanny, Abigail takes her up on the offer. Wi-Fi, here Abigail comes. My favorite person was Maddy.

She was full of life and happiness. Plus she still had the innocent of a child that was endearing. Abigail was sweet as well. She was understanding with Maddy and was a good friend to her. The chemistry between Wade and Abigail was slow going. Even than it is more on the mild side, which I would expect form this type of book.

This book was a nice start to a new series. Apr 30, Dawn rated it really liked it. I get why this is the name of the book—and I know which specific amazing scene it comes from too. In my opinion, the content of the book went much deeper than the title and cover portrayed to any would-be reader. But again, and with great skill, Denise Hunter brings her antagonist journalist, Abigail Jones and her protagonist ex-rodeo cowboy, J.

Ryan together while they each struggle through their emotional and spiritual bondage that threatens to keep them apart. Apr 29, Ausjenny rated it it was amazing Shelves: This is a good read. It was interesting seeing Abigail go from a busy city to a country town and how she handles it. Seeing how she interacts with Maddy,Wade's daughter. Abigail has been sent to check on Aunt Lucy and I fell in love with her. There is more to the story than just Abigail becoming a nanny for Maddy and its this story that I found interesting.

I don't want to give anything away but I am sure you will enjoy the story and what happens as it evolves. I do love books s This is a good read. I do love books set in rural settings as they have that small town friendly feeling which often happens in a smaller community.

A Cowboy's Touch

I also love the setting of the rugged Montana backdrop. Wonderful book and look forward to reading more books by Denise.
