This is the traditional "Mary had a little lamb" rhyme full length with updated illustrations. Mary is a cute little blonde with red cowboy boots, and the lamb is doing snow angels with the line, "its fleece was white as snow". The teacher has cat's eye glasses. The pictures are bright and colorful with one or two lines per page just like early readers need. There are a couple of "be kind to animals" lines added to the end of the traditional poem. At the end of the book there is a short paragraph about the origin of this poem. My only objection to this book is that the drawings do not show much diversity.
