Kenna is an admitted virgin. After watching her dad walk out on her and her mother, Kenna is hesitant to get too close. While waiting to board her flight to Germany, Kenna meets another man in uniform, Captain Decklan Parker. She feels things that she has never felt with Luke.

Kenna tries to convince herself to ignore her feelings, but when Decklan sits down beside her on the plane, she finds him nearly impossible to resist. Kenna finds out that Decklan is stationed at the same base as Luke.

Her brain is telling her to try to build feelings for Luke, but her heart is pulling her towards Decklan. This book is full of raw passion and desire. The sex scenes are intense, but not in a raunchy way. They make you long for those kinds of feelings in real life. Sep 18, Pamela Lunder rated it it was amazing. Cocky Captain is a very fighting title for this book. Decklan is for sure cocky when Kenna first meets him and through most of the flight.

I loved how he always knew what she was thinking. Kenna is sweet and innocent but is so attracted to Decklan. He gets her motor running. Luke was a jerk and got what he deserves when Kenna hits him. I loved the ending and loved the whole story. Sep 14, K.

Declan kisses her and she feels the electricity between them.

Luke, well I am not a fan since is a She tries to be supportive but there are no sparks between them. I loved how she was so assertive and how their relationship flies off the charts. I was in the mood for a quick, spicy read that had a happily ever after. I got so much more then expected from Cocky Captain. My next spicy read will be another one by Kelly Moore from my library. Cute, steamy, quick read. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down and 3 hours later I finished and wanted more! At the beginning I couldn't help, but hope Kenna would ditch Luke for Decklan! You could feel their chemistry since the moment they made eye contact. Kelly Moore did an outstanding job with this short military story. I hope she continues Decklan and Kenna's story! Characters are really interesting and so real - Kenna is so adorable and sweet girl! During her awkward way to Germany due to her accidental companion. What will be consequences of their meeting? This read is the promise of fun, steam, complex actions and well sexy military men! I so enjoyed this story. She has a sex crazy friend who gives her a few going away gifts that cause Kenna to blush. First read by this author. Jenna is on her way to meet her long distance boyfriend who is stationed in Germany on route she meets a captain and sparks fly. Short and sweet and at times a tad rushed. After his father died Decklan worked hard, so he could provide for his family. He did his best to climb the ranks as fast as he could and he's now a Captain. He hides his true self behind a mask, but the moment he looks at Kenna he knows that the time to play games is over.

Decklan is a man of honor and he lives for the military. Will he open his heart to possibly find his one true love? Kenna is such a sweetheart. She always worked hard at school and is a practicing nurse now. She'd never met a man who made her feel flustered just by looking at her, until Decklan.

From the very first moment sparks fly and I loved it that she could hold her own against this big and stunning man. Decklan is all muscle.

He's such a badass, but so sweet to Kenna at the same time. I fell in love with him immediately and the fact that he's not afraid to show his feelings made me like him even more. Cocky Captain is a short story about finding true love. I flew through the pages and read it in one sitting.

Asks questions about a number of issues that shouldn't be an issue in what's considered to be a post-feminist era such as no changing tables in most men's rooms. The writing style will appeal to fans of Erma Bombeck and David Barry.

The cartoons really punctuate the text. This book isn't for just stay at home dads, but dads who share custody or are fairly involved in their kids' lives. I picked this up on a whim at the library and it was hilariously accurate. I would recommend this to: Jul 20, Joseph R. Most parenting books can be categorized as either inspirational or practical. Some books focus on how great it is to be a parent or the rewards hidden among the diapers, food fights, starting school, etc. Other books tackle specific problems and give practical advice on how to solve them. The categories often bleed into each other we were inspired by one potty training book that talked about challenges with much older kids--glad it wasn't us!

The book comes from the less common perspective of a stay-at-home dad who has been raising two girls while his wife works as the state Attorney General.

The author is a cartoonist, which means he works from home with flexible hours. It was natural for him to stay at home with the children. As a first-time parent, the task is a lot more than he bargained for, in demanding and delightful ways. As a dad, there are certain barriers where are the baby changing tables in public? Mostly in the ladies' room, not very helpful for dads and awkward situations joining playgroups or going to the park as the only dad among lots of moms that provide both humor and practical advice.

I especially liked the idea of a dad just leaning his back against a wall as if sitting and using his lap as a changing table--that's the sign of a really tough man. The book reads a little bit like the best of his blog posts , but they are woven together well to create a larger whole. The book can be read in bite-size chunks over several days or weeks, giving the reader a chance to enjoy it every day for quite a while. It is full of illustrations too, including some cartoons that originally appeared in the New Yorker.

They are delightfully whimsical and add to the comic punch of the writing. The book is very entertaining for dads and moms, validating the difficulty of raising children in our world and the bemusement needed to deal with how the world looks at us parents, stay-at-home or not.
