Shows well on the shelf. Good, hinges tender, cloth a bit rubbed and lightly worn. The first volume has a fold-out map at the beginning. There is some wrinkling to the first third of the text block in Volume II, more severe at the start and lessening until it disappears. Very handsome on the shelf. Nearly fine copies Edition: A handsomely bound set, complete in two volumes.
There were two additional volumes published later, in Includes an account of the English and Dutch war with Spain, as well as the origin and destruction of the Spanish Armada. Frontis engraving in each volume, folding map in volume I. A clean, sound and attractive set.. Good hardcovers, no dust covers. Pages are clean and unmarked but does have tanning.
Page ends has foxing, and top of pages has a damp stain, but not into text. Binding is tight, strong. A slight musty smell. Ships same or next business day!
