The only thing i noticed is when you decide to go on youtube or something else and come back. The music cuts out. I would appreciate looking into that because i love the soundtrack. This game brings to light how good Platforming and 3d gaming should be with a Fun and not to easy gaming dexterity mixed together with a cutsie story which can make any hardcore gamer and gamer veterans smile with rememberance of how games like this can bring laughter and frustration back to the front of our memories.
This game isn't ground breaking or genre defining. But it reminds me and re-solidifies why I fell in love with gaming and why it was so mysterious and magical. It's a nice departure from blood and guts platformers on Xbox, which they can be very good too. It also reinforces for me that while story is important in gaming it only comes second to gameplay.
Don't let the throwback or nostalgia fool ya. The game looks inviting and great but once you dive in the feel wears off quick. Also the controls are poorly designed along with the 2D levels. I initially really liked the game, but I for one had a big problem with the depth perception, especially jumping sideways. Maybe not everyone perceives it the same, but for me it wrecked the experience, and took a lot of the fun away, particularly during the later stages when the game becomes less forgiving.
Otherwise, the game has a lot going for it. I agree with much of what the other positive reviews have to say. I'll let you read more about that elsewhere.
