Like all of the books in the Images of America series, this is long on pictures and short on text.

That's just fine, because the photos are wonderful, and give a great sense of the Delmar Loop through the decades. If you've lived in St. Louis for at least a few years or attended Washington University , you'll probably find this worthwhile. As with most Images of American, this book provides a fun trip back into time to the Delmar Loop.

We shopped there in the 50's, went to the Tivolli Theater as a teenager, took the streetcar downtown from the loop and much more. I didn't know much about its early history, so that was fun to learn.
