Bound By Blood: The Rise of a Mafia Prince

Wicked Mafia Prince

It's actually a pretty good horror story about an evil criminal society, and the terror of being born into it. Why pretend it's a romance? There is nothing to romanticize about the hell of such a life. Great, her slavemaster is benevolent. Sadly, there is no escape for her but killing or castrating him and killing herself.

She was a captive slave and I don't understand the pretense that he's going to be faithful forever when his vows mean nothing to him, or that there is this love story that has any meaning when these people are animals. They are probably raping and trafficking young girls Weakness is going to get them killed So the final speech where he pledges this "love" to her is really silly.

Marriage is imposed on the heroine against her will. She is sold into an arranged marriage by her father. Her douchebag husband cheats on her. She falls in love him. She thinks she's happy. Of course, she doesn't know any better because she is just a brainwashed idiot.

And they say romance is dead. View all 21 comments. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I will keep this as brief as possible. But what I did not know is that it would be raw and gross and that she lets him in bed with her shortly after. He says "we start fresh now. In hindsight, I should have stopped there. Because a woman has a right to chose what is safe for her. He was unfaithful so condoms should have been used. Everything else is just bullshit. I would need some serious medical clearance before even getting that near me. So the cheating for me was not the major issue, it was safe sex.

Also, speaking a woman who was unable to take the pill due to clots, he was more than selfish in his demands to her. The pill can cause blood clots that can lead to death.

The saving grace of this was Aria's sister, Gianna, who was hilarious. February 17th, I just re-read it. The cheating was still an issue but I did not realize he himself was unsafe in his sex practice. He also endangered her life repeatedly throughout the book and she even takes a bullet for him! So I tried and I failed. The triggers are violence and multiple acts of violence, cheating, heroine seeing hero with OW, date rape drug, repeated treats of rape, vulgar language with regards to violent acts and unsafe sex. After her father's stern but demanding command Aria is forced to be married to Luca Vitiello the oldest son to Salvatore Vitiello and the next in line to be Capo dei Capi of the New york mob the Familia. After trying to confront her father that the tender age of 15 she cannot wed, Aria Scuderi countdowns the day to her 18 birthday the day she'll be traded like cattle to her new owner Luca. Luca Vitiello, ruthless, commanding and the boss of the New York mob.

Love and trust aren't in Luca's dictionary and the marriage is merely a merger to keep their enemies The Russians Bratva and the Taiwanese Triad at bay. Vows are exchanged but Luca can sense Aria's fear a mile away, with a heavy heart and fear that Luca might claim her body as his Aria begins to dance with wolves and play the lamb "I enter alive and I will have to get out dead".

After a completely unpredictable wedding night Aria tries to accept Luca not only his touch but his heart and after his promise to never force himself on Aria our heroine is caught between her Unsaid feelings and her tongue tied words "Born in blood. I can't stress on how much I absolutely adored bound by honor Luca assassinated my heart but his younger brother Matteo made me horny with just his smile he's such an arrogant prick but Lord I can't wait to have him to myself Now to the nitty gritty the things Cora Riley taught: No I didn't forget about the sexy bits this one is my favourite "Luca tore my bikini bottoms off me, pretty much ripping them in half.

Those are always the hardest. While there were moments I enjoyed, there where also things that didn't bode well with me, so I'm at a standstill. My life was already over before it even began. Everything was decided Has one spoiler, which I'm not sure what it ever added to the story. Everything was decided for me. I knew going in that this dealt with an arranged marriage so it was something I had to get over if I ever planned on enjoying it.

Furthermore I actually really liked the beginning of the book. We see Aria's struggles, her hardship and the unfairness of it all. Being born into a family that stripped you of yours choices for the sole reason of having a vagina. Not being able to choose your life style or decide who to spend it with because women were only born to obey and warm the beds of their husbands. She's bound to be married whether she wants to or not.

The last few words of the oath that men swore when they were inducted into the mafia could just as well have been the closing of my wedding vow: It wasn't like she saw him and her lady parts tingled but still played the part of hating him. She did not like him and it showed. It read perfectly and it really brought you to feel for her. But then The strong start it had completely vanished and turned into pure smut, and sadly not even sexy smut. Aria was young and naive. God was she stupid. She constantly acted like a kid and was made meek.

This is why I don't tend to read mafia books. Women are made meek. They're made weak and gutless. I get that she does't have a choice but does she have to do everything so willingly?! The times that she had a right to be pissed and lash out, she would decide to reign in her anger! And I can't stand for that.

There are also too many insignificant details that do not add to the story unless you count length. The connection between the leads feels completely flat because the only time we ever see them spend time together is when they're screwing and that one time he took her out to eat. Her virginity is made the biggest freaking deal of the millennium.

Look, I get it, it hurts the first time around. He cheats on her. That might piss you off but I'm not really totally against it. I mean there are instances where it might drive me insane but it's not something that will completely make me hate a book. The problem was that it didn't add anything to the story, unless you count making the hero look like an ass. I hated how Aria handled the situation. He never apologized and she basically acted like it was okay and they could move on by the next day.

I know I've already mentioned it but she was made weak at ever corner. She never made a decision for herself, was constantly flinching and was a ridiculous coward all the time. I mean, I get you're married but do yourself a favor and get a fecking life. And finally this is a mafia book. Where was all the delinquency? View all 29 comments. Aug 24, Brandi rated it really liked it Shelves: It wasn't without fault and honestly wasn't profound or anything - but it was entertaining. Being born into our world means being born with blood on your hands.

With every breath we take sin is engraved deeper into our skin. Aria Scuderi and Luca Vitiello were born into the mob, and to strengthen the ties between the Chicago and New York families, a marriage is arranged. At 18, Aria will become Luca's wife, and she is terrified. Luca is may look like the ideal badboy, but Aria knows he has a retribution for being brutal and cold, he isn't a good man. But Aria's choices are limited, it is a necessary arrangement to keep her family safe, and even if she ran, he would find her - so she goes through with the marriage.

Aria makes it no secret to Luca that she doesn't like him, but Luca wants Aria. He is patient, gentle, and persistent, while she is a bit naive, but I couldn't help but pull for them. I enjoyed the mafia theme and some of the side characters kept things interesting, so I'm looking forward to continuing this series. I never thought I would, never thought I could love someone like that but I fell in love with you.

It's not a sexy word. View all 32 comments. Their relationship was one that had me rooting for a happy ever after while at the same time wishing Aria would give Luca a taste of his own damn medicine. I was drawn to Luca because of his mysterious bad boy persona and felt understanding towards Aria and the fears that she felt when coming face to face with the fact that she would be marrying someone she barely knew. This isn't a story about perfect people finding their happy ever after, this is a story about a man who found acceptance and love from a woman who stole his heart and vise versa, despite their differences.

Cora Reilly's writing style is very organized and easy to read which is something I always appreciate when reading a mob-rom book,as it has a lot of different characters from different families and it is often hard to keep track of who belongs to what family: I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a evenly paced mob romance that will have you feeling a spectrum of satisfying emotions: Until next time my beautiful readers, Tierra x View all 10 comments. Bound by honor is a mafia-erotica romance where our virginal heroine Aria annoys the heck out of the hero and me throughout the book with her hot and cold attitude before finally deciding to sleep with him in the end. The whole pages revolved around her dancing around the subject of sex and whether she can really hate him or not. For god sake, she belongs to the bloody mafia in this read!

Wish she would just take a second and think smart about few things That was your chance to get smart and be clear about your situation until back up arrived.. Don't get me started on her Who the hell keeps provoking a mob boss when he's clearly married AND has the power to hurt your sister?! And to think I actually liked her in the beginning.. He was hot, kind, dominating and at times vulnerably sweet.

He kept all his promises to his wife and tried his best to work through different situations even when his wife and his sister-in-law was throwing things around and provoking him. El Don la Mafia de New York y el Don del Outfit de Chicago han sido enemigos durante mucho tiempo, pero al verse amenazados por la mafia Rusa y Taiwanesa deciden unir fuerzas.

It was about duty and honor, about doing what was expected. Feb 05, Cristina rated it it was amazing Recommended to Cristina by: P she recommended me some romance mafia books that she thought I would like and this was one of them: What I didn't expect was to love this story so much, to fall in love with Luca and Aria's story and to adore the way Cora Reilly writes her novels.

At the surface this is just another mafia novel: One mafia prince has to get ma Later edit: One mafia prince has to get married for convenience to a girl he doesn't know. She dreams of romance and love He, on the other hand, is damaged and doesn't know what love is. But in the end What I loved most of all was how real their relationship felt to me.

There was no instalove and instalust scenarios we see in a lot of romance books. Being from a traditional Italian family she had to be a virgin before marriage and I loved the fact that the author didn't minimize that and the fears that come from being married and having to have sex for the first time with a man you don't know.

Let's face it girls When I read a book that has a "first time" scene in which the female character has barely any discomfort and comes apart after a few strokes I just want to laugh. Aria had the fears that most of us had, the desire for the first time to be with someone special and on her terms. Even if Luca didn't seem like the men for the job he finally proved us wrong and Cora Reilly did a wonderful job with this book and became one of my favorite authors. I can't wait to get my hands on the next books in this series: D I'm so curious about Matteo and Gianna's story: D I always wondered what was going on through his head at times Let me just tell you From the first page this book grabbed me, written so well all from Arias POV.

We get to know Aria when she is 15, when her father high up in the Chicago italian mafia promises her to the son of the boss of the New York Familia. Their partnership is to bring the two families closer so they can fight together against the Bratva and T 5 for the love of Luca stars i have never been a fan of arranged marriage but if my parents had set me up with the likes of Luca, well I may well have changed my mind. Their partnership is to bring the two families closer so they can fight together against the Bratva and Triads.

Aria obviously has no choice in this and is terrified of what will happen when she marries this scary guy when she turns I was fully prepared to hate Luca on Arias behalf, thinking he was going to go about things a hole lot differently than he did. So as the book progressed I found myself falling head over heals for Luca and cheering him on.

And I killed her. Kiro is definitely a character we know absolutely nothing about but the little background we have is certainly going to lead to another tense and intriguing read. Jul 16, Book-Bosomed blog rated it really liked it. But this time the romantic angle focuses on Viktor, the middle brother, and his long lost love, Tanechka. This is quite an original pairing. Viktor and Tanechka were partners in crime in Russia till her perceived betrayal brought Viktor to end her life. Or so he thought. Is Viktor seeing ghosts from his guilt? Or is this the real Tanechka?

The later question is a struggle or perhaps a journey that unfolds throughout the course of the book. Once again I was rooting for the hero to bring our heroine over to the dark side. You loved when I drugged you with the harsh pole of my cock. In the first book I found him a little cold and distant, but in his own story he becomes a fully developed character, longing to be part of a family and a place to belong as he attempts to rebuild the Dragusha empire all the while tormented by the big mistake of his past—the mistake he might finally get the chance to atone for.

Finally, I have to say I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait for reading Kiro's book: Jul 11, Sarah - Musings of the Modern Belle rated it it was amazing. Wicked Mafia Prince continues the story of Viktor and Aleksio, as they try to locate their brother, Kiro, reclaim their empire, all while navigating love.

The reader meets Viktor, and it is clear that he is damaged and volatile, which only makes him more intriguing. I freaking love these characters so hard! I was drawn to Viktor in the first book of the series. He clearly has some demons he is fighting, and he was incredibly emotional and volatile. While that may not be appealing to some, I love a good darker romance that has a hero similar to Viktor.

And, let me tell you, Annika Martin did not disappoint with this character. His desperation to get back his love is almost heart wrenching. The scenes where they talk about the past are sweet but also extremely sad. Even though he has some demons, he still has some of the best characteristics of a hero: I just love him! The heroine of the story, Tanechka, is just as fantastic, and I found her to be an equal in every way to Viktor. She is fiercely independent, protective of innocents, and loyal. Her character seems very authentic, and I enjoy how the author integrates her old life with her current one.

Bound by Vengeance by Cora Reilly | Knjige | Pinterest | Books, Romance books and Cora reilly

Annika Martin expertly uses who she is now as a way to show that the old Tanechka is still alive and well inside of herself. Not only were these two characters great apart, but they are simply irresistible together. The memories and the actions between them expertly show the love they once had for each other, and Annika Martin did an amazing job at making their relationship develop at an appropriate pace while also showcasing what Viktor did in the past and allowing the reader to better understand this complicated character.

This book is truly filled with great, well-written, and well-developed characters. Although I love Viktor, this plot is what continues to draw me back into the story. I just cannot help myself! I need to know how everything plays out. What is going to happen with Lazarus? How will they find Kiro? What will he be like? How will Viktor and Tanechka make a life together? What is the revenge going to look like? This book answered so many questions but left me with a so many more. The reader gets just enough of each, and I cannot wait until Savage Mafia Prince comes out so I can see how their story will end.

There is suspense, love, betrayal, atonement, love, loss, and revenge.

Viktor tried to kill Tanechka, but the explanation for it was vague. She was the love of his life. I wanted more details about why he attempted to kill her. I liked Viktor, but he's no where near book boyfriend material. Tanechka ruined the book for me. She was so damn saintly. All of the prayer and guilt was irritating. Forgiveness came way too easily. As far as adult romance stories goes, this one didn't really have very much sex going on, but when one of the characters is a nun, that has to be expected to a degree.

Personally I preferred the dynamics of the first book, but it was the emotion in this book that made me like it a lot and my only criticism is that Tanechka and Viktor's story didn't quite feel complete and whilst I know there's at least two books to come, I'm not sure that their love story will be revisited as each book focuses on a different couple. Finally I have to say I'm super excited what is to become of this series, especially that I now know who will feature in these books.

I loved this book so much. My heart was pounding the whole time for my Viktor. This is going to be a very small review because I don't want to spoil the plot for you guys.

Viktor killed the one woman he ever loved, thinking she was a traitor. Her death has tormented him for years.

One day he comes upon a nun and his obsession with her ensues. She never shows her face but Viktor knows in his heart that she is Tanechka. Thinking this is his second chance, Viktor plans to set every wrong right. But I loved this book so much. But maybe this is one problem that he cannot solve.

Annika Martin's slightly twisted, tongue-in cheek writing style that I love SO much absolutely shines through in this installment of the Mafia Princes. Her sense of ironic absurdity is like nothing I've ever read before. We're talking a double Mexican standoff, view spoiler [a mafia assassin with amnesia who's become a nun, hide spoiler ] , and newly anointed mob boss Bloody Lazarus employing an executive life coach to help him manage his minions.

And it's all pulled off with grace an Loved it!! And it's all pulled off with grace and a repressed smirk. All the depth that was lacking in the characters and the story in book 1 showed up here with guns blazing. Viktor is drowning in guilt for what he did to Tanechka in the past, and his trying to win her back little by little with his dark, warped, yet sincere sense of right and wrong was so well-done.

You can't force a flower to bloom, but you can show it the sun. I loved them both with their Russian-ness that's a real word, btw. The contrast of their slightly stilted English words and thoughts with that of the smooth Americans felt real, and I couldn't get enough of these two. I wished the book hadn't ended. Edgy and a man of few words, there was nothing to endear him to me apart from the mystery surrounding the girl he watched continually on the auction site feed.

But oh how my opinion has changed after finishing Wicked Mafia Prince; Viktor has just become one of my all-time favourite characters! Whilst a seasoned killer his pain and suffering was beautifully portrayed as was his re-connection with the girl he loved and presumed lost, Tanechka. His words to her made me breathless as he recounted their story to us, and Tanechka. Having survived what should have been a certain death, Tanechka was saved by nuns and has spent her time since her rescue at a convent but she is missing a large part of herself: With Aleksio and Viktor still trying to bring down the auction site responsible for selling off the virginity of innocent girls, Viktor is torn between completing his mission and rescuing Tanechka.

Once he finds out that she has no memory of their past though, he knows that he must free her, immediately. And oh those words…. Their sexual re-connection was one of the most perfectly penned scenes I have ever read. It wasn't crude, it wasn't overtly sexual but it was tender, sweet, and simply perfect. The story of the missing brother continues and by the end of this book Kiro is still elusive but the brothers are closer to finding him. Lazarus is determined to find Kiro first though to ensure the prophecy is never realised and in doing so starts a war that neither brother anticipated.

This is definitely a series to relish. This book does end on a cliffie though and there is a long-ish wait now until November for the next instalment. However, this is certainly a story that I will enjoy re-reading a time or two between now and then! We are proud to provide honest and unbiased reviews written from the heart. Now that Viktor and his brother Aleksio are reunited, they continue their seemingly impossible search for their youngest brother Kiro.

Viktor's story actually starts somewhat in the first book, when he discovered that his one true love, Tanechka, survived the night he attempted to kill her for betraying their mafia family. Now she's posing as a nun, held captive in the dark world of human skin trade, and Viktor will do anything to get her back and earn her forgiveness.

Although Wicked Mafia Princ Now that Viktor and his brother Aleksio are reunited, they continue their seemingly impossible search for their youngest brother Kiro. Although Wicked Mafia Prince is a standalone romance, it is the second story of the Dragusha brothers and their attempts to find Kiro and overthrow Bloody Lazarus. And he goes to extreme lengths to get her to remember. His actions made me very uncomfortable.

Martin does an amazing job of writing Viktor. He's so passionate and so f'ed up. She's made him very real and believable. She keeps him in character. But with that said, I can't relate to him nor feel good about his actions towards Tanechka.

While he may love her, he is looking to be punished for trying to kill her. He's so destructive and his actions are NOT love. I understand his logic and it wholly fits Viktor's personality.

However, that doesn't make his actions admirable or conscionable. He's still a monster and his love is obsessive. Tancheka is finally back with Viktor the love of her life and the man who tried to kill but there's only one problem she has no memory. Viktor tries and tries to make Tancheka remember their lives together but when she finally does what will happen when she realizes that he tried to kill her. I have to rate this 3. I am looking forward to the conculsion of this story though. Jul 20, Courtney rated it really liked it Shelves: However, it continues the overall story of finding their third brother and their heritage.

I would not read any of these books out or order. While I absolutely loved the first book, the second one slowed down a bit for me. The majority of the book takes place over a few days with Viktor trying to get Tanechka to remember who she is. It moved a tad slow for me, which was the only setback. I love how Martin is building the mafia empire again for these brothers. The overall plot is very engaging and keeps us right at the edge.
