Don't panic - despite the all-caps title, Bitch Queens has definitely not mutated into a bunch of hippie sluts. With ,Anti-Social" this record kicks off like a whip and an outstretched middle finger. The ,Go Fuck The World" in the chorus is just the beginning of a series of filthy commands. Political Correctness is not their way of life, as is made abundantly clear in their disguised Band-Hymn ,R-Rated". But foul language and loud guitars go hand in hand and are just so frickin' liberating. And the self-proclaimed Queens of them all have produced eleven hard-assed and sweetly exhilarating songs that call for celebration - one love, in Bitch Queens fashion.

However nothing is less true. They found each other in their love for music, strong songs and the Nashville series.

That they all adore glitters and high heels, that is nice for the picture. And that they all had their fair share of heartbreak have the last time, that certainly creates a bond. More than enough points of departure to join forces on 'Sisters', a debut album full infectious doll that reaches to Country and Americana. The final movement, "Bardo IV: Clouds Blooming at the Thought of Union" moves the Fool through the Sidpa Bardo, or the Bardo of transmigration where the Fool arrives at the door to his next embodiment. Each movement is preluded by ambient portals that act as passageways to the varying environments of each movement.

The highlight of the album is the compelling work "Fish, Father, Phoenix," which features a dynamic chamber orchestra interwoven with samples of his fathers voice and mixed with field recordings of animals, shamans and insects Bono captured while traveling in South Africa and Botswana. This composer-produced recording stands out for the engineerings clean and clear quality and the focused precision of the performers. This 14th album of Brain Damage is against the flow as always. Gaudeamus foundation and the independent label Unsounds are indispensable actors in the avant-garde and new music field, operating internationally from their common base in the Netherlands.

With the Sounds of the Young Avant-Garde Vinyl Collection, they collaborate to present some of the most forward moving sounds in contemporary music, as they are created today by young and mid-career makers. The works are original commissions by Gaudeamus and are selected, produced and released by Unsounds. In the summer of Gaudeamus brought together audio-visual artist Zeno van den Broek b. The electro-acoustic piece Ob-literate is the duo's resulting work for organ, vocal ensemble, electronics and custom built performative objects - world premiered at Nicolaikerk, Utrecht on 6 March Drawing inspiration from articles revolving around the philosophical text The Destructive Character by Walter Benjamin, furthermore distilling words and concepts from interpretations by Dick Raaijmakers and the poem tui by Adam Staley Groves, the two artists constructed a work which is intense and alienating in its deconstructive dismantling to create space for something altogether new.

Starting out Ob-literate presents itself as a dense, intangible moving mass of sound. Little cracks offer a view to whats hidden beneath. Following an explosion, constituent elements are thrown wide, moving through separating paths - towards isolation. On their own all 'particules' find their equilibrium, without actively engaging in relations, although there might be some harmony or friction. A stray element deserts and the balance is rocked into implosion.

High pressure forces connections, leading to collapse on itself. With the veil of obscurance lifted: The storm of this exhilarating centrifugal composition throws up atomised memories of melodic syntax, hints of a phrase or just a word. In Ob-literate these tiny points reference musical coherence and terra firma in a buzzing rhizomatic web of contingent yet tightly controlled aural material.

Ultimately Ob-literate blows holes in card houses of fixed ideas or walled-off bubbles - throws open windows and points to the clearest of blue skies as a tabula rasa for our cacophonous times. Brom is a young, super-tight and intense power trio from Moscow, featuring Dmitry Lapshin on double bass, Anton Ponomarev on saxophone and Yaroslav Kurilo on drums.

Bullet Proof Lovers is a throwback to a time when it wasn't a sin to make fun music for people to play loud. Whether it's Cheap Trick influenced rock n' roll, thundering arena pop, or a vintage Kurt Baker power ballad, the hooks are god-like.

And so are the guitar solos! Big hooks and a shed load of melody; Turn it up and rock out! After the breakup of Electric Tears however, the stack of new original De Wit-songs kept growing.

As the daughter of famed conceptual artist Dennis Oppenheim. By age nine, Chandra was staying up late at her parents art-world parties, collaborating in her fathers projects, and performing her own plays at downtown hotspots such as The Kitchen and Franklin Furnace. Balancing on razorwire guitars, liquid basslines, and dub-style melodica, the Chandra band unveiled their first four songs: With hypnotic, chanted vocals focusing on chilling themes of mind control, multiple personalities and missing the train.

The Chapparrals were known for wild onstage antics, deep funky sounds and for taking no prisoners when they opened for any of the numerous recording acts they had the pleasure of working with back in the? These guys are a perfect summation of popular funk groove as their album is a blistering blend of bassy rhythms and tight instrumentation.

It also includes mighty sweet keyboards that sneak wonderfully alongside the guitar and horns, sometimes with wild moogy touches that are almost P-Funk. This great album is a compilation of hot, stingy tunes with horns, smooth ballads with strings, featuring both fast and slow funky songs with heavy rhythmic passages. A surefire holy grail funk and soul LP! What sets this score apart is its clinical post-modern feel - with influences including Mica, John Carpenter, Brian Eno, Goblin, Fabio Frizzi, even with whispers of the s, as well as a musical feel a little like the classic Drive soundtrack.

Yet with all these influences composer Alec Cheer somehow manages to create a new work that sounds unlike any other. Its dark, bewitching, mesmerizing, ear-catching and even "banging" in parts. Look, it must be good, otherwise Jonny Trunk would not be pressing it. And with a spelling mistake too.

The band has included many musicians along the way, as The Teels have wandered through the big cities and waded through the backwoods swamps, while longing to return to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. But as all true believers and lovers of RocknRoll know, the band name is a tribute to the legendary American blues guitarist Charles "Chuck" Norris, who recorded the classic live album "Los Angeles Flash" in the bands hometown Gothenburg on June 25, Stripped down, with the classic sound of the Goddamn Gallows frontman Mike Dehlin!

Through the erotic snarling vocals of The Baroness along with Leary's rapture invoking multi-dimensional psychedelic guitar and heavy swaggering beats of McCandless you feel the revolutionary libertine energy that leaves the listener with no safe word as The Cocky Bitches scream, beat, and grunt their way through their extraordinary debut record "Mercy".

He started his solo career in and has released more than 11 studio albums as Paul Collins, or Paul Collins Beat. Colman's compositions elevate the experimental narrative with broad shifts in mood, utilizing a pop-concrete style by incorporating sampled squeaking balloons, environmental recordings, tuned percussion, drum computer, and voice to accompany the traditional small chamber instrumentation.

Heavily influenced by early UK punk and USHC with subtle underpinnings of bands like Sparks and Ultravox, this is punk music clearly made by lifers obsessed with the underground counter-culture. Like the EP, Welcome The Problems articulates a dynamic balance between unconventional arrangements and pop melodicism. Reuben Sawyer is primarily known for his illustrations and design work for bands such as Chelsea Wolfe, Deafheaven, Destruction Unit, and many many more.

Unlike the fuzz heavy sounds of his other projects Hollow Sunshine or Dry Insides; The Column borrows influence from early post-punk and coldwave bands, while still doing something uniquely refreshing. Although far from careful, "Combsy" comes to the ear as curated and intentional and with a healthy sense of both the history and future of instrumental music.

Taking cues from revolutionary and mind-expanding artists like Lustmord, Throbbing Gristle, Wardruna, Dead Can Dance, Halo Manash, Arvo Part, and Sunn O , through their levitating, soul-shattering, and black hole-sized ritualistic black ambience, Common Eider, King Eider have elevated themselves to the rank of near-mystical figureheads in the realm of modern times dark ambient and drone music.

It will immediately resonate with the community of diggers, aficionados and DJs, since it is so very rare to come across an unknown music from the past, that happens to be so danceable. Fully remastered, with exceptional artwork also executed by the artists themselves , this record stands out as an act of bravery, an incredible achievement of restoration of the forgotten 80s soundscape to which we can dance, laugh, yearn and dream.

Sophomore album from Australian vintage metal bangers Convent Guilt, a band whose melodic class and songwriting smarts is equaled by their intelligent, thoughtful lyrics. Formed in the fall of by members of Houston's thriving punk rock scene, straight off the night stick it's worth observing that not only do The COPS dress like police officers when performing live, they actually sing about the system. As tracks like 'Homicide' channel the speed freak punk guitar play of The Briefs and Electric Frankenstein and 'Life On The Beat' proving to be a mean municipal anthem in-waiting, that sits perversely amidst a throng of Minor Threat, Hot Snakes and Pissed Jeans loving reprobates.

Modelled around harm reduction philosophy, the collective operates as a rehabilitative outlet for a revolving cast of multi-disciplinary artists across Canada. By treating the three trombones not simply as a set of extra instruments but rather as one coherent body of sound on its own, Elektro Guzzi dissociate the brass instruments from their conventional use and repurpose them into something completely different: In doing so, Elektro Guzzi add new layers of depth to their music, emphasizing a more cinematic side of their music: Warm and fuzzy textures float weightlessly above fragile soundscapes and complex sonic fragments.

At the same time, the bands signature sound runs distinctly through the entire album: Hypnotic repetition, building tension and suspense up to a point where the energy of the music gets so intense you feel like you can physically touch it with your hands, interlaced with organic patterns of sound, constantly changing and evolving, pulsating and oscillating. Fearing vocalist James Rogers and drummer Michael Fenton have spent the last ten years touring together in punk groups such as All Teeth and Creative Adult, while guitarist Brian Vega spent his time selling merch and filling in for bands like Expire and Oblivion. As taste in music inevitably shifts as time drags on, the sound of Fearing can still be attributed to their previous experiences in punk and hardcore; giving a uniquely abrasive and almost aggressive vibe to their slower, darkened material.

Picking up a number of acoustic instruments, he began experimenting with a Tascam 4-track tape recorder and allowed these sketches to flourish. The result is Tape 1 and Tape 2, a two-part project stretching across fifteen tracks - encompassing fluttering piano melodies, subtle jazz drums, rumba rhythms and soothing ambience. The jazz element links back to Toppers childhood. I was interested more in electronic and present-day music. Tape 1s jazz roots are palpable and as things move into Tape 2, it takes on a neo-classical, psychedelic soundscape and cinematic quality.

From over 40 hours of raw material, a harmonious mix has been created between Alltime Zappa favorites, self-interpretations and unknown works from the work of the Big Z. It's a dirty job, but one has to do it eventually. Or seven and a half. With the intrepid mix of a sassy rocking live show paired with virtuoso Swiss precision craftsmanship, with which the stage-experienced professionals live out their passion for the music of the Great American Composer, the Swiss Tribute Orchestra knows how to grab all audiences.

The seven musicians celebrate with many voices and with verve obscure stories of modified dogs, stinking feet, sad Eskimos and all sorts of other curiosities of life, the brash humor and the sometimes nasty falsifications of the front man Dave Muscheidt breathe the spirit of the great entertainer and provocateur FZ. FiDO shamelessly exploit improvisational freedom, breaking stylistic boundaries with great virtuosity and making full use of the musical diversity and compositional humor of Zappa's work.

With numerous inspiring live shows all over Europe and six released sound recordings, the Swiss Tribute Orchestra has probably earned a place in the Olympus of the worldwide Zappa community in the last decade: Stylish, virtuoso, humorous and with his own approach, FiDO and his audience are still intoxicated after 15 years with the ingenious work of Frank Zappa. Melody, ambience and mood are central to these pieces influenced by the likes of Angelo Badalamenti, John Carpenter and Johnny Jewel.

After moving to London in , Finn busked around town for a couple years before entering Camdens Chalk Farm Studios, best known for producing a string of reggae hits. Pass The Distance, however, would become more than a solo-acoustic project. Backed by free-improvisation innovators David Toop and Paul Burwell, Finns dark, personal songs unravel lysergically over 40 minutes. Toops sinewy electric guitar and Burwells broad percussive palette lift up Finns ardent strumming and snarling vocals, making this one wild ride in catharsis, introspection and raw merriment.

As Finn tells journalist Dave Segal in an interview for this vinyl reissue, "The songs were about alienation and loneliness. Jerusalem came to me in one shot. I wrote it on mescaline and was playing it over and over and one of my flatmates wrote it down. This deluxe reissue features additional guitars, remixed drums, unreleased track plus an additional bonus 7" to bring you Longing For Infection like youve never heard it before!!! Franks eponymous album is the embodiment of folk legend.

Captured in a single-day session, these ten tracks are stark, gritty and seemingly out-of-place with time. There may be no 60s folk record that is simultaneously as rare and influential as Jackson C. After gigging around the city for a few years, the group-who were almost all in their late teens-laid down some tracks at Ripcord Studios, but they disbanded soon thereafter and the tapes sat in a closet, unheard for over 40 years.

But with Thara Memory leading the charge, the music has a rich complexity, best exemplified by the nine-minute "Suite for Funk Band," which runs through a series of movements that touch on Latin grooves and post-bop before culminating in an almost-psychedelic breakdown capped off by a devastating guitar solo.
