Second Chances and First Dreams - Erotic Short Story for Women

Shelly has massive self esteem issues and I loved seeing her overcome these as the book progressed and she became a more confident woman. A more confident woman with two sexy, but very different men falling in love with her, Lance and Christian were perfect, too perfect I imagine, but they were fantastic book candy and I loved how supportive and encouraging they were with Shelly. I had fun reading this, it was a fairly short and quick read and although it isn't something that is truely memorable it was enjoyable and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

Nov 07, Amy rated it it was amazing Shelves: I very rarely give a romance a five star review - this one is getting it for a couple of reasons. First of all, the heroine is a non-traditional heroine.

Then There Was You

She's not a perfect 10 with a perfect body. She's a 'normal' woman with flaws and body issues. And yet, she is a sexual being who men find attractive. It seems silly to be so happy to see this in a romance but it's just not something you see very often.

Alice Orr Books

I loved the exploration of this romance The entire story about loving yourself and having others love you when you are unsure of yourself Love the message here and how it explores body image in a really healthy and sex positive way! I highly recommend this one. I think it was so well done! Not only has she decided it is time for her to get in shape, but she is determined to lose that pesky V-card as well. To achieve those goals she will have to deal with the body self-esteem and body issues she has struggled with all her life. Going into this book I really was expecting to need lots of Kleenex and a bowl of candy.

As a curvy girl, I have had some of the same issues as Shelly when it comes to not seeing yourself correctly. I have to say Mari took what could have been an emotional land mine, and made it a field of beautifulness!!! This story touched me on sooo many levels! I absolutely love all three of these character. Each of them embodies qualities that grab a hold of your heart. Christian and Lance are absolutely what Shelly needed to break her out of the prison of her own emotional making. She never gives us cookie cutter characters, and she gives us these people that seem to just walk of the pages of her books.

Jun 25, Renee rated it really liked it Shelves: Mari Carr can write anything and it's a winner. Reach You is no exception in this fifth book of her Second Chances series. We've all felt that down-on-ourselves, how-could-anyone-love-me at some point in our lives and sometimes it takes just one or two people to show us that it's more than what we see staring back at us in the mirror to teach us to believe what they see in us.

Wonderfully written and a great chapter in the Wine Girls year of change and Second Chances. Nov 16, Under the Covers Book Blog rated it liked it. Christian has been working with Shelly for years and has been lusting after her for what seems like forever and he is determined Shelly MacIsaac has reached 28 with out ever having being kissed and she has lost all hope that she ever will, just like she has given up on ever losing weight. Jul 31, Amanda Sheila rated it really liked it Shelves: What I love about this book, even though society "embrace" the relationship between these three, I still liked how the heroine is unsure at first before she "coming out" with her unusual relationship.

I don't really read this kind of feeling from the menage books I've read before. Mostly, there's no problem at all when three people are having a relationship together, while in reality there's always people who will look at them wrong or w 3. Mostly, there's no problem at all when three people are having a relationship together, while in reality there's always people who will look at them wrong or weird.

I love that the author slip some of the hesitation in this book, though eventually everything turns out okay. I still enjoyed it. What I don't really like is that there's no further mention of the heroine being chubby. I want to read more about that, dang it!

Hehe, I crave for good fat heroine romance and I really wish this cover it all up. But overall I enjoyed this book. I didn't know it's a part of a series, but now I look forward to finish it. Jul 31, Lucy rated it really liked it. I really enjoyed Never Been Kissed.

I like "normal"sized heroines and Shelly's thoughts and issues with her body image are very relatable and genuine. Christian and Lance are divine and their relationship with each other and also with Shelly is believable and heart warming. I also found Shelly's relationship with her mother to be an interesting element to the book as it gave more depth to Shelly's character and how she evolved.

Shelly has always had a weight problem and this, in turn, led to her lack of self-esteem, making her shy and withdrawn in public. This and encouragement from her small clique of girlfriends sets her on a road of calorie-counting and strenuous physical exercise. Fully aware that her physical appearance is just part of her inability to carry on an active and productive social life, Shelly fights her fears of inferiority and turns over a new leaf.

Christian Shelor is also fighting devils in his social life. After a painful break-up with his girlfriend, he is afraid to enter the romance arena for fear of being hurt again. He has been close colleagues with Shelly and has finally broken through her self-imposed barriers, revealing a smart, sweet, and mysteriously interesting woman, hiding in the shadows of her insecurities.

They both share a mutual attraction that they keep securely hidden from each other. When the dam is finally broken, the torrent that flows threatens to wash them both away. Her insecurities and awkwardness in public are almost physically painful to witness. This said the moment her doubts are dispelled and her life is dramatically changed forever.

One size may not fit all but every size fits someone. I think that many readers will agree that this is a book well worth the time and effort to read. Jan 20, Rachel rated it liked it Shelves: Shelly is a gal that through the confidence and courage of the people surrounding her, found her inner strength to accomplish many changes.

At 28 years old still a virgin and feeling down on herself Shelly makes strides to change her life. She sets about her journey beginning with her health. She starts exercising, eating better and works towards not always being a home body. Christian is Shelly's coworker, and they secretly have eyes for each other. He's made attempts to get Shelly to go to lunch with him several times but she's just too shy and down on herself she doesn't see them for what they are Lance is a trainer at the gym that Shelly goes to One evening at the bar with the girls Lance sees her and asks her dance. Josie pushes her to dance with him, and things just jump off from that point. Although a steamy read, I think this book is more about self discovery and self importance.

Through her two guys, Shelly finally sees herself as everyone else does Overall a pretty good, feel good book. Oct 15, Monica rated it it was amazing. Shelly is going through a life crisis.

The Roadhouse - Erotic short story by Liv Wilde

She's 28, a shy virgin that doesn't date, in fact, she's never even been kissed! If that weren't enough, she's overweight so doesn't see how any man could ever finding her the least bit attractive. Well, at least she has a great group of girl friends, a job she loves, and she and her coworker Christian have a great working relationship, at least once she got past her crush on him and found a comfortable friendship. When Shelly decides to take better control Shelly is going through a life crisis.

Thrilling Suspense. Sizzling Romance.

Tessa has tried to move on without closure of what happened between her and Rowan years ago. I devoured this book. Is it a real-life person that actually exists somewhere between the layers of your experience, distantly or maybe not-so-distantly, past? Do you remember the actual name, or would you prefer to provide a new one? Do you fancy yourself the one and only capable of healing said wounds? What I do know is that you have the makings of a Second Chance Love story.

See a Problem?

Your reunion or sexy soul salvation or dreamboat heartthrob fantasy has storytelling legs that reach all the way to the ground and then some, because everybody loves a Second Chance Love story. Because everybody has at least one such story of their own. Everybody has googled at least one hot-memory someone from their past, which means everybody is a hot readership opportunity for Second Chance Love storytellers.

The most dangerous of those battlefields involves Mike Schaeffer, the young love she lost long ago. She wishes she could write an alternate ending to their story. You missed your chance. Or so she believes, until she sees him again. I love Second Chance Love situations, not only for their market potential, but for their plot scenario potential too. Two attractive people meet in a cut, usually at least somewhat contrived situation and are attracted to each other.

But where is the real story? What plummets the heroine into a dilemma so intense, dramatic and powerful she will have to scramble and struggle to escape. How is the reader hooked? Why is her attention grabbed? I write romantic suspense so my lovers-to-be can meet over a dead body, which diminishes the cuteness factor considerably. Still, on first encounter, they might tend to circle one another bantering cleverly anyway. Three more of my Riverton Road stories refuse to follow that scenario. Each of the others saves me a lot of work as a storyteller.

The preliminaries are done with before page one. More important, I have backstory to work with and develop. Backstory rife with conflict that gives my present-time front-story huge potential for intensity, drama and power. The challenges of storytelling are enormous. Second Chance Love stories are a great source of such help. Get out there and grab yourself some.
