If you are not attracting into your life what you want to have in your life, then it's time to take a look at what you are putting out into the Universe. I believe that we can profoundly increase our self-esteem if we believe that we are connected to our 'Source'. That connection and 'inner knowing' of that connection imparts a feeling within us that we are important in the scheme of things. We feel loved, special and unique. We also feel safe in the world, knowing that we have all that it takes to create our life the way we want it to be.

As I mentioned before, anywhere we make changes that heal, will heal other areas of our life. In order for us to heal from emotional wounds, we must first realize that they exist. We must face up to what has happened, or is happening to hurt us and be prepared to do what it takes to deal with it.

That is a challenge in itself as we have a tendency to pretend that things are another way. We want to ignore it and hope that things will get better. Sometimes, we are afraid of what the people in our lives will think of us if we admit to what is not working for us.

Most times we are afraid of what will happen to our lives if we start to make changes in it. We are afraid of the unknown even if what we are living with is unhealthy and damaging to us and our loved ones.

Without the awareness that something is unacceptable in our lives, nothing will change. Without the courage to admit to and find a solution for it, nothing will change. Without the motivation to move forward with the solution nothing will change. It is responsible for everything our body does; eating, sleeping, breathing, moving, and so on. It lets us think, dream, reason and experience emotions. It keeps us alive! Here is a question that I often ask myself. Where is the mind in all of this? I put this question in just to add a little spice. I don't know the answer. Anyway, having a healthy brain, keeps our body and our mind healthy. A healthy mind means that we can think clear and focused and can understand and make rational decisions.

We can learn new things easier and retain information better. Stress is detrimental to the brain and hence the mind and body. Stress is caused when things in our life do not fit into our comfort zone. That is a very broad definition of stress. We all have stress in some form or another. Some of it is necessary for survival, but most of it is unnecessary and damaging to us.

All of the pillars were crumbling. I made some drastic changes as I knew that my health was suffering badly. I couldn't remember what day of the week it was and whether I had eaten lunch or not. I was forgetting information that had been in my memory banks for years and I even had difficulty finding my way where I had been before. It was as if I was getting old very fast. Since I had reached what I call the 'bottom of the barrel' with what I could handle, I left it all behind and gave up worrying about what people would say.

We then think how events occur for us is an accurate description of reality. It is merely the meaning we have placed over reality. Emotions and memories are categorized and stored, and they influence how we respond to experiences in the moment. As energy flows down from the mental body into the emotional body, it can bump into stored baggage from the past and create some turbulence. When there is excess baggage, thoughts from the mental body will generate emotional stress that trickle down and affect the physical body. A person with overwhelming stress will, at some point, experience physical symptoms because of the mind-body connection. This is why it is imperative to develop emotional intelligence and to adopt practices to have a more positive outlook on life, both mentally and emotionally.

When our thoughts are more optimistic, our emotional states will be more positive, and when our emotional states are balanced, our physical bodies will be healthier. Your physical body is the reflection and total sum of all aspects of who you are. It is a barometer that indicates how things are going in all areas, and it also provides the musculoskeletal structure and vital tissues and organs that carry you through this life. Exercise and healthy eating are typically what come to mind when most people think about physical health.

We all know people who have clean eating habits and are physically fit, but who carry excessive mental and emotional stress, which can wear on their health. While it may not be immediately recognizable, chronic stress takes a tremendous toll on the physical body.

Stress occurs when our spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical needs are not being met. Stress triggers the fight-flight response, which is a survival mechanism that is hard-wired into our DNA. It is how our physiology prepares to respond to potentially life-threatening events. When this response is triggered repeatedly it creates wear and tear on the physical body. Health is much more than just the absence of disease.

True health comes when we are able to create harmony between each of the four bodies. Our physical body is our foundation in this life. It is what everything else is built upon.

Taking time to carefully tend to ourselves as a whole can open energy channels. These open, clear connections equate to active energy flow through all the layers of our being, which creates a spiritually connected, mentally stimulated, emotionally centered, vibrant life. At the end of the day, we are all seeking more happiness, connection, joy, health, and fulfillment. Finding ways to exercise each of your four bodies regularly will help you to cultivate more of what you seek.
