That should not prevent you from commenting on English grammar problems, but your intuition should tell you where your comments may be less helpful. In thoses cases you can always ask. The "this-that"-problem is one I wasn't aware of before I started attending the CC. I thought it was quite easy, but I learned the hard way that German and English concepts are different in this??

I'm still struggling from time to time and I get a lot of welcome correcturitos, but at least I have developed some kind of awareness for the problem. As always, being aware of a potential problem can increase the likelihood of mistakes, as there are examples where I would have intuitively chosen the right word in the past, but start thinking nowadays.

Most of the numerous field guides on flora and fauna would be useless here, but I miss some bird books, dealing with South American species, and world monographs on certain groups. And with all the long-ago personally-read paperback fiction far away, I don't know if this implies some sort of liberation, or more homelessness.

As for some of the books mentioned previously: Easy to read and quite entertaining and suspenseful, but without substance, and the ending is simply preposterous, as far as I can remember. Yes, occasionally I am, and I even admit that I like being it sometimes. However, I had some hope that it was not that bad please no answer to that rhetorical question without question mark ;-. In addition, it sounded a bit strange that me being "schnippisch" made all snails happy.
