Now every gunhand in the territory—or that Barton can lure into the territory—is going to be trying to make a name for himself by challenging Gates I did see the slight twist at the end coming, but that was more to do with my longtime reading habits than Hubbard giving it away. I will certainly look to read more of these collections whenever I can find them.

In a red haze of vengeance Bill rides to town and gets the best of the killer in an even match. But there are some nasty cattle rustlers in the area that might have something to say about that.

It definitely makes it more captivating that your normal audiobook. However, perhaps it's Playing Jokers Blog: However, perhaps it's just that I have been experiencing a higher than normal level of fatigue lately, but every afternoon when I'd try to listen to more of the cowboys and their follies, I would find my eyelids growing heavy. I fear that perhaps I did not quite get the most out of the stories as I might have done if I had read them.

I say that as a type of disclaimer, because otherwise I did enjoy it. Gunman's Tally was almost poetic, particularly in the beginning with its use of repetition and imagery. Ruin at Piedras I had a hard time understanding what was actually going on.

There was an appropriate amount of gun slinging and rogues. It definitely fits squarely amongst my Gunsmoke idea of what a Western should be like. Because, there's only one way to handle the killers and the spoilers, and that's with a U. Marshal and the smell of Gunsmoke! Dec 20, Anna rated it liked it. Won this in a Goodreads. This would be my first time experiencing pulp fiction, but I have heard tell of its genre and it has not disappointing me in the overzealous action-packed writing. Pulp fiction is easy action movie material; its the movie that gets your heart rate going, things explode and dastardly deeds are overcome by heroic action by the hero who didn't think he could.

If it isn't movie material, I think it would make a good comic book. All stereotypes in Gunman's tally a Won this in a Goodreads. All stereotypes in Gunman's tally are followed to a point; the villains have not a single shred of decency to garner them sympathy Easier to shot them in a draw without remorse from the audience and the heroes are American dreamers, starting out small and coming out big after overcoming their obstacles.

It was a quick and easy read, and even though I can no longer recall the names of any of the characters, I can remember the deeds. Isn't that how action movies tend to go though? The focus is on stuff getting done, with lots of guns and testosterone fueled decisions. This, then, is a good cowboy story. Dec 19, Kim rated it liked it.

This is only the second book by L. Ron Hubbard that I have read the first being "Fear", the scariest book I have ever read!!

Developments in European Company Law, 1996

So I wasn't really sure what to expect. This book is really different than "Fear", but also really well written. A western story, it is a short and quick read. Like "Fear", it also has a twist ending. I liked the twist, and also how the book highlights the friendship between the ranchers. Overall, a quick and enjoyable read! This Western comes to live with the audiobook.

It is read by different people and the sound effects and thematic music not distracting from the story but enhancing it. The audiobook is about 2 hours and includes two stories.

Gunman's Tally is a quirky nice Western I enjoyed a lot and the bonus story Ruin at Rio Piedras is a short great addition. Perfect to enlighten a rainy day's commute.
