I have also been on tours where if the hotel isn't central they will do drop offs in the city and pickups later that day - a very thoughtful service. Our tour director would not let us be dropped off or picked up if we were not paying for the optional trip - even if they were driving by that location. She also arranged the itinerary so that the included orientation in Moscow was divided into two short afternoon tours originating from the hotel - this suited the optional tours arrangement but made it near impossible for those not on the optional tours who braved the metro to get into the city - basically a disaster.

In hindsight I have read other comments about this trip and apparently this is how they run the tour so please give it some serious thought before booking this tour. We had luggage little bit larger than specified but Trafalgar gave us a bit of a leeway since we informed them in advance. We boarded Eurostar from London's St. Pancras International to Brussels.

Then we continued on a coach to Amsterdam. On our way to Netherlands from Belgium, we had a little break at "La Place". They have the best burgers, nice fruit juice and yummy tarts. In Amsterdam we got nearly one hour to troll through the streets and have a sneak at the red light district. The coach strolled through picturesque streets to reach the hotel due to road closures.

Welcome to Reddit,

We enjoyed the welcome reception on a glass-topped boat while sightseeing cruise along the city's canals which included a light dinner and welcome drinks. The local tour guide was fantastic. We also enjoyed the food. Beer was nice but didn't enjoy red wine. We spent the night at Westcord Fashion Hotel. It was a nice stay and they served a very nice breakfast on the following day. Probably the best breakfast we had during our tour. You have to pay to use toilets. We crossed into Germany and stop to view Cologne Cathedral.

This was an amazing structure and the place was full of tourists. We went on a Rhine cruise from Boppard, past lots of nice castles and steep vineyards to St. Goar; saw the Lorelei Rock. This cruise was a shared one but you can get the full view from the top deck. Again a nice stay with reasonably nice breakfast. This hotel had modern bathrooms with fancy showers. After breakfast we visited the Heidelberg Castle overlooking the scenic River Neckar. Heidelberg is a another picturesque town.

Before continuing our journey through the Alsace vineyards and across the Swiss border at Basel to Engelberg, we visited Colmar a small French town looked like a picture postcard.

Naval Action: Trafalgar 3 (Epic Victory!)

It is truly a very beautiful town and there was a place called little Venice. We had our lunch from "Restaurante la Romantica" and their stake was extraordinary. In the evening, we reached Seelisberg, Switzerland and we stayed at Hotel Bellevue. We got to stay in room which had an amazing views of the mountains and the lake. The host was a nice man with full of hospitality.

Meals were good but with limited options.

Upcoming Events

At the dinner, two musicians played traditional music with an accordion and a blow horn. They also did some yodelling and altogether it was a fun night. After the breakfast, we ascended by cog-wheel train and a cable car to Mount Stanserhorn summit and admired the breathtaking views. Then, we arrived at Lucerne in a scenic lake cruise.

The chapel was stunning and beautiful, this is definitely a must see. We stopped in the capital, Vaduz the Principality of Liechtenstein after admiring splendid Alpine scenery on the en route. We crossed the border into Austria and followed the Arlberg route through the Tyrol to Innsbruck.

We viewed the famous Golden Roof during our orientation of this beautiful town. We tried a meal of traditional Tyrolean cuisine which is Salad, Soup, Schnitzel and strudel before a lively folklore show, where singers, dancers and musicians dressed in national costume provide an evening of entertainment and fun.

Drinks were included and you can drink as much as you wish. At the end of the show, they display the flag of each nationality attended the show and sing a song from that country.

After that we took a private boat ride to St Mark's Square. In here we saw the famous Bridge of Sighs and the ornate Doge's Palace. This evening we took gondola rides along the city's canals while listening to Italian melodies. Overall it was a nice experience but some places were very stinky.

Even though this was a nice clean hotel, their service was not up to our expectations. Make sure you get a bill if you pay for something. Otherwise, you might have to pay twice for the same thing. We attended a glass making place Murano glass on Giudecca Island and this art work is a must see. You can buy genuine Murano glass articles here. They are very expensive but absolutely stunning. Tour guide we got for our Venice city tour was not very good. Couldn't understand half of the things she said. We visited the St Mark's Basilica with its glittering gold mosaics but felt like the tour guide could have spent little bit more time in there explaining things rather than wasting so much time on the city tour taking about unrelated things.

In the afternoon, we visited Burano island which was a fishing village and full of colourful houses. In here we had a seafood dinner with unlimited beverages. It was altogether a nice experience, however food wasn't that tasty. This was a extremely long drive with some scenery. We reached Rome later in the afternoon.
