Gabriels Hope (Rhyn Eternal Book 1)

Gabriel's Hope (#1, Rhyn Eternal)

As many would say, you could not beat fate. This was what happened to Gabe and Deidre. Gabe had loved Deidre in the past, but it diminished when hatred built up in his heart because of her impossibility and cruelty. He was immediately attracted to her due to her kindness and free-spirited attitude. The dying woman who had pink dye on her hair and looking like a water sprite was conveying to Gabe her bucket list. One of the things on her bucket list was to have a one-night stand with the stranger. Gabe was shocked the next morning when he saw who the dying woman was and his name was tattooed on her back.

Chaos had come upon his doorstep once again. I enjoyed reading this book. The cliffhanger had left me hanging in the air. I can't wait for the sequel to be released. Now acting as Death, Gabriel is struggling to put the underworld back together, and fix the disaster that past-Death left behind. Gabe was great before, but in this book he was absolutely yummy. Serious but has a sense of humor. I loved being in his mind. I loved watching him struggle, and loved it even more when he started to pull it together.

I had very mixed feelings. There were a lot of similarities between her and past-Death, but there were also a lot of differences. But the crazy cliffhanging twist at the end does have me rooting for her. This book flowed smoothly, and even though it carried on with a different story, it felt like a continuation of the last.

Reward Yourself

I definitely recommend this one as a must read! As the synopsis tells you, this book is the continuation of the Rhynn Trilogy. I haven't actually read any of the Rhynn Trilogy although they are waiting for me on my kindle.

This small but significant fact did NOT mean that I couldn't read and thoroughly enjoy this book. Yes, there are comments made about how Gabriel helped Rhynn and Katie but nothing that will either ruin their story when I read it or could be anything but back story for Gabriel. So moving onto Gabriel's Hope itself - Deirdre i As the synopsis tells you, this book is the continuation of the Rhynn Trilogy.

So moving onto Gabriel's Hope itself - Deirdre is dying of a terminal tumor and confused. She doesn't know who she can trust and who to avoid. Even her boyfriend turned out to be dead after she'd had sex with him. She has to find out about herself and who she was before she can move forward and have any kind of life, for at least the next three months. Gabriel can't believe that after everything he went through with Deirdre one of those things I haven't read about yet but doesn't impact too much as everyone else tells Deirdre what she was like so you find out too , she is his immortal mate.

He is none too impressed with this knowledge and tries to figure out a way around it. On top of that, the Underworld is in chaos and he has got to put it to rights from 'our side' before the portals will open and allow him back to the Underworld. This story is fast-paced and funny.

The reactions of both Deirdre and Gabriel as they come to realise that things are different now are a joy to read. Poor Deirdre has the hardest time as she can't remember who she was before and has to learn some not very nice truths about Past-Deirdre. This book ends on a cliff-hanger that immediately leaves you wanting to move onto book 2. Jan 19, Deb Carroll rated it really liked it Shelves: So, You've got 3 months or less to live what you do?

You make a bucket list right? Well that's just what Diedre did. On that list of things to do? Have sex that includes her being on top, her luck Death who happens to be named Gabriel is in the right place at the right time and she gets to cross off many things from her bucket list. The next morning she has a tattoo with his name across her back and he thinks she is his ex past-Death and now he is morally obligated to protect her.

What follows is almost to sad to watch. At the end of the book we see past-Death Diedre and human - Diedre been split apart by Darkyn who is now the Dark One! We see human Diedre suddenly being Darkyn's mate and past-Death suddenly getting wanted she wanted all along and that's Gabe, or does she?

Darkyn has a surprise left for past-Death before she can leave hell and for me it's the one bright spot at the end of the book!

This story will continue on in Diedre's Death and I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens and so will you. I honestly don't know what to think of Gabriel at this point but I may have more to offer on that after the next book. I mean look at the walking dead I was rooting for Rick but I really wanted to see Laurie suffer Oh and Lizzy, I am totally getting that Died is player here! But I don't know him from Adam! I am so glad I joined this book club this year and am reading along with others weekly.

Before you pick up this first book in the Rhyn Eternal trilogy, I really do suggest you read the Rhyn trilogy. It enhances these books and the cameo appearances by Rhyn and Katie, and gives a background to Gabriel's character, as well as Deidre's. The Rhyn trilogy, if you do not get the omnibus or if the omnibus is no longer available, is comprised as follows: This book picks up right where we left off at the end of Rhyn's Redemption.

He's having a helluva week, trying to clean up past-Death's unfinished laundry, getting locked out of the Underworld, his own domain, and now dealing with what looks to be his lifemate, a tiny dying little human who just happens to look like his bitch ex-lover, past-Death Darkyn is there and ready to make trouble, there are rules of conduct and the code he must abide, people coming back from being dead-dead, traitors in the midst, and sexual tension that makes you purr.

I am really enjoying this series, Rhyn's comments and Toby's especially about the Immortal Mood Beast are hilarious and touching all at once. Feb 19, Margaret rated it really liked it. The continuation of the bestselling "Rhyn Trilogy" saga. Jan 13, Melissa rated it really liked it Shelves: Finally, a romance novel that focuses on character development and conflict instead of constant, graphic sex and easy solutions to problems.

The main female protagonist, Deidre, has a very literal fatal flaw-- an inoperable brain tumor-- that even immortal deities like Death can't heal, remove, or otherwise cure.

It is refreshing to break from the pattern of "I have this horrible problem smut suddenly I find my mate and I'm cured and suddenly super-powered! Instead, Deidre turns down Gabriel's offers of a civil arrangement instead of whirling romance, she waffles between the hope of surviving cancer and ending it all.

She and Gabriel have an actual adult conversation about making a relationship work and the steps to achieve it. Most romance novels don't have that, instead going from a night of steamy sex to immediate, deep love. I enjoyed the conflict between them, as well as the issues they were dealing with on their own time hello, the Grim Reaper sucking at his job and not being able to usher souls to the underworld? The characters are dynamic, interesting, and multidimensional. And for once, a romance novel that does not end with a happy ending! I may just pony up the funds for the second book soon.

No fault to the book but only my bad, it took a little bit of time for me to remember what was going on exactly when the Rhyn trilogy dropped off. I should have skimmed back over the last book to get a better memory. But, regardless, it was cool to have that "ah-ha! First of, the cover is amazing.

Gabrielle Aplin - Please Don't Say You Love Me

I loved being able to be in Gabriel's mind as he copes with his new role and comes to terms with who he is and what h No fault to the book but only my bad, it took a little bit of time for me to remember what was going on exactly when the Rhyn trilogy dropped off. I look forward to the next book to hear the continuation of the story.

Gabriel was very believable for a character; you could see the hurt all his actions caused as he did what he thought was best, and not just acting on his emotions. I really hope things can get better for those two. The chemistry is undeniable. The environment was true to the world we explored in the Rhyn trilogy. No new locations were really added. The storyline was intriguing, yet not so fast-paced that one got lost in not knowing what was going on. There's lots of questions left Nov 06, Leah Speller rated it it was amazing Shelves: I am finding this new set to be following a familiar pattern of books I have read before.

Yet the premise of the world and the laws it follow is still different in which I have read before. I do enjoy the author I am just not sure I am in the set of mind to want to read more of the pattern this book has followed. I have already began the second and the main story arch is what is keeping me interested more than the romantic aspect side of the story. This is what I do enjoy about this author is her s I am finding this new set to be following a familiar pattern of books I have read before.

This is what I do enjoy about this author is her story arch and her treatment of the characters. They are well thought out, even through a series they continue their growth.

It does not matter if they are the main character or not, which is another point in her favor. The quickest way for me to loose interest is for there to be a whiny weak character that just doesn't grow out of this in any way, or they just beat up shit cause that is the only way they can deal and never learn the way of talking.

He loved 'past-death', and falls for someone new. Diedre is on a bucket-list journey as a result of her incurable brain tumor. When she falls for Gabriel her life begins a series of very drastic changes. Neither of them could have anticipated all that would come for them individually or together. Their journey is difficult, their chemistry is fantastic, without being ridiculously hot too fast.

I loved this continuation of the story and the inclusion of previous important characters from past books. I could reread this story once a year happily. Thanks to his demonic predecessor, newly appointed Death, Gabriel, can't just step in and rule the underworld the way he's expected to. Gabe's got plenty of housekeeping to take care of first with the multiple messes past-Death left behind.
