The only thing that bothered me was I really didn't feel the connection between the characters and think it would of been much stronger if we had the hero's POV and a little bit more of a build up before they got together. They have a fight and are separated for a night but don't break up. Scheduled to be released March 6. Jase - A hot tattooed roughneck?! Say it isn't so!! This book was such romantic book I read it in 2 days it was that good I couldn't part with it!

It was definitely 5 stars great job! Can I just start by saying Damn why did it take me so long to read this series, now I've started I just don't want to stop. Nicole Hart is one talented writer, she had me hooked from the first page. I didn't know whether I'd love a Roughneck guy but wow what a change from those typical billionaire type hotties, it made a refreshing change, and I can safely say I love me some Roughneck. Lainey left her hometown to start a fresh after a tragedy hit her life hard but after all these years shes Can I just start by saying Lainey left her hometown to start a fresh after a tragedy hit her life hard but after all these years shes right back in the place that used to be home after her cheating scumbag boyfriend who she gave the past few years of her life cheats on her.

I did think was going to be one of those cheesy books with a meet your prince charming kinda bull, but was I mistaken. I mean obviously theres instant chemistry between the two, and definitely alot of sexual chemistry but theres heaps more laying beneath this story. Antonia is not only dealing with her issues, she wants to help Jase battle his demons too. I laughed and cried throughout the pages, and I was gutted when I reached the last page but thankful I dont have to wait for a release, as I was late to the party they're already available.

Aside from his tattoos and the swearing, he's got a lot of qualities that remind me of my hubby. I was really happy to not see any major drama between the two main characters - the kind where they don't talk and all the drama is due to lack of communication. Thanks for that, Nicole. This was a quick and easy read. Nice for when you need something to take y I loved Jase.

Nice for when you need something to take your mind off of things. Wonderful book from an amazing lady. Nicole you told me you were writing a book all those years ago waiting to meet Jamie McGuire. I am so happy that day has come. I loved the story of Jace and Lainey. It was a mix of sweet with a bit of naughty, just how I like my stories.

I can't wait for your next book. I absolutely loved this book! It was such a sweet and light hearted read! If you're looking for a southern boy with a dirty mouth than this is the perfect book for you! Book 2 is out now and I can't wait to dive into Sam and Moon's story! I so enjoy this book. Such a great romance between Lainey and Jase. Nicole authored a short, fun, and sweet love story.

Love on a Dirt Road

I mostly felt relaxed as I read it--not much tension or drama. I say mostly relaxed because the story is way too quick-paced. Lainey and Jase go from liking each other one second to BAM let's get married the next. Which is not a problem for me; life is this way. And if you find the love of your life, I suppose you don't pump the breaks. You lay your foot on that pedal. If it's right, why stop it?

As always, I have to comment on th Nicole authored a short, fun, and sweet love story. As always, I have to comment on the writing. When I read a book I pay attention, like really pay attention. Regarding grammar, had their been fewer errors throughout, Love on a Dirt road would have been a tastier treat.

This book was exactly what I needed! I've read some pretty heavy books lately which I've learned quickly are not my first love. This kind of book is. It was a great love story that had me smiling wide and tearing up. So if you're in the mood for a fun, heart warming read I definitely recommend this book! This is a perfect debut novel, and the perfect start to The Roughneck Series! Jase is so damn sexy! A tattooed Roughneck, yes please!! I fell in love with him and Lainey from the start. They were so easy to relate to and so likable!

Sometimes I need a break from all the drama, although they're my favorite but sometimes I need easy and this fit the bill perfectly. Well this was just a damn good love story about love trucks tattoos sexy men country music!! It was amazing and love love loved it!!! This book is well written. It keeps you wanting more. I now have another Author to keep a watch on for new releases. I absolutely loved this book.

OMG I did not expect this book to be this good. It was so sweet and felt so real. It didn't linger and drag on with emotional drama. Nicole Hart beautifully showed Lainey and Jase's relationship progress over a short amount of time. And oh my gosh I loved it so much. After reading this book I can say that I loved each and every character in this book. Lainey, whom the story is told from her POV is a sweet girl who moves back home after her jackass boyfriend is caught cheating on her.

Then, she me OMG I did not expect this book to be this good. Then, she meets Jace and her world is completely changed. Her and Jase's relationship is so damn cute, I love getting nothing but scenes of just them two together. She also has a best friend, Sam who is a riot who one kick-ass best friend with one dirt mouth. But that's what you love about her. Then there's Moon who is a friend of all of the characters. This book was sweet and perfect. It is a fast paced romantic read. At sometimes it moved a little too fast for me, but I also realized that it fit for the story.

This is one of the most realistic stories I've read in a long time and I could almost picture Lainey and Jase being real people. I loved their ending, their was enough drama for the characters to work out their issues, but it didn't go over-the-top. Lainey may have turned into crazy lover, but her actions are expected of her knowing each of their personal stories.

Love on a Dirt Road was a great and fast read. I liked it a lot and I cannot wait to read the rest of this series. View all 3 comments. It was an easy read but a little too cheesy for me. The relationship between the main characters would have been more believable had they gotten to know each other A LOT more before throwing the "L" word around and if they were in high school.

Sadly, they were too dependent on each other. At one point the heroine actually mentioned she could not live without him. I don't like those types of relationships. Anyway, there was too much, too fast for it being such a short read. There were many misspelling errors but that's just me being a grammar nazi.

Also, the best friend had a little too dirty of a mouth. I couldn't get attached to her because every other word out of her mouth was profanity. But when Cassie blows into town trying to convince him to lease his land for the well, he's concerned for her safety. Because there is a lot going on under the surface in his little county, and on his land, and she needs to stay far, far away from it. Meanwhile, he's more attracted to her than anyone in a long time, maybe ever.

Which makes keeping her safe even more important to him. Jase and Cassie's chemistry was fire hot, and it consumed every page they were on together.

But, it was quite a slow burn before they actually get together. I really enjoyed their banter, and Cassie gave as good as she got.

She is shocked by the strength of her attraction to him, as he's the opposite of the type she usually goes for. She's not sure how long she can fight it off. But, they have many, MANY obstacles in the way of them being together. Many of them are involved in the suspense plot of this story, so I won't go into them here.

Another big obstacle for them is the ex drama. Between the people in the town that are "friends" with his ex, and go out of their way to make Cassie's life difficult, and the ex herself, there was WAY too much other woman drama here for me. I'll give credit where it's due: Jase had absolutely NO interest in getting back with his ex, for many extremely valid reasons, but that didn't stop the drama from constantly occurring. It was more than I could stand at certain points, and I just wanted it to be over. Not to mention it was also involved in the suspense plot in roundabout way, and it was just overkill for me.

That was by far my biggest issue with this story in general. There were a few other reasons why that ex subplot was almost a book killer for me, but I don't want to give too many spoilers. I'm assuming that at least one of these characters will be in the next book, and I'm definitely interested in reading more about them.

Bottom line, this would have easily been 4 stars for me, if not for the crazy ex subplot. Though it was dark and a little twistier than I prefer, I was still invested in the world, and I'm interested in reading the next book in this series, for sure. The author's writing was really well done, and especially for a debut novel, I was quite impressed. I'll be curious who's story she decides to tell next.

Received in exchange for a honest review. I really liked this book. I liked how there was that mystery about the Lucas brothers and what was going on at the house. How they were rough on the outside but really were sweet marshmallows.

It was Cassie that brought them back together. Cassie is a woman who is trying to make a better life for her mom. He latest job brings her in the path of jase and his brother and a town that is just odd.

When she first meets Jase he is gruff and scary to her but she is oddly attracted to him. His brother not so much he is the big scary cowboy who keeps that concept of danger surrounding him. Jase has the air of mystery bad boy. He is a hard working man who is just trying to do what is right. He has a past with a girl who has burned him and now many are trying to protect him from Cassie. I like that they look out for him.

Jase tries to protect Cassie from the happenings on his land as well. He pushes her away but also keeps her close. Their attraction is palpable and he loves to push her buttons as well. As they learn about one another and she pursues the lease with him, we find these two get closer and we see the kind sweet and tender side of Jase. We learn of his past and his family skeletons. We learn about Cassie and her past as well. ONly for Jase the past catches up to his family and puts Cassie in danger and he does something to protect her that breaks the heart but is also sweet. The story is fast paced, full of danger, adventure, witty and sarcastic banter and a romance that is steamy.

We see Jase show Cassie that she is a woman to worship and love and not someone to toss aside. We see them work together to explore their feelings and confide in each other. They support one another and respect one another as well. We see them be there for each other when needed and fight for each other.

A story with intrigue and intimacy but also second chances for family and love. A great beginning to the series. See all 21 reviews.
