As with most of my videogame soundtracks, what's presented here is in some cases quite different from the in-game score.

Oct 24, NovelMomma rated it it was amazing Shelves: I FELT every single page, every word of this story. It was everything I hoped for and so much more. Ado and Gloria are special. Love was something they had to truly fight for. The way Lucy wrote their stories was perfect.

I feel like there was such honesty in the way they were written, but also such grace. I love that while we always say the hero and the heroine, they took turns being the hero throughout the whole story They were both strong and resilient, but they also both struggled and learned to lean on one another. Aldo and Gloria will both have you swooning. The romantic gestures in this book are some of my favorites. Watching the friendships between Ado, Gloria, Luke, and Harper develop throughout this story brought all the feels. This is a story about true love.

It is a story about second chances, and not just in love, but in life. It is a story about friendship. It is a story about being your own hero, and a story about supporting those you love. It is a perfect story. This is one of those books you close knowing you are coming back to reread it over and over. Whatever you do, you do not want to miss this story!

Oct 20, Jaime rated it it was amazing. Let's go back a few years - we met Luke and Harper from Pretend Your Mine- in the background were these two characters you meet yet think about once the book is over, insert Aldo and Gloria. Aldo is a great guy, a soldier, hero and friend. Gloria is a loving woman who feels deeply and has a previous toxic relationship.

Aldo and Gloria have circled around each other for years. Never being on the same page. They fight - for their chance, for themselves, for their relationship. I loved that they ea Let's go back a few years - we met Luke and Harper from Pretend Your Mine- in the background were these two characters you meet yet think about once the book is over, insert Aldo and Gloria. I loved that they each lost a part of themselves but in order to feel whole, they had to hold on to what matters that most. Aldo and Gloria's story is heart-wrenching - it's not supposed to be easy. Life handed them a second chance, and they jumped.

I shed some tears. Lucy Score once again proves that she's one of my favorite writers. She's not afraid of broken characters, hard times and fight to make her characters lives feel any emotion. With that, Lucy gives us hope and love that life can be anything you want it to be. A top book from me. Oct 23, Claire rated it it was amazing. Or maybe some sparkles or fairy dust?

That book will always be my favorite Lucy book, just like remembering your first kiss still makes your heart leap a little even decades later. Read them both again. Try to decide which couple you love more, I dare you. Oct 26, Kristy Love rated it it was amazing. What to say about this book That first chapter grabbed me and wouldn't let me go. So much emotion was packed into the first bit and it continued. Each word had a purpose, was full of emotion. You couldn't help but cheer for Gloria.

God, I fell in love with her. She's so strong and resilient and amazing. He was the perfect book boyfriend. Lucy Score writes amazingly. I highly, highly recommend Finally Mine.

Uh oh, Meg now owes Ben, and against her better judgment, agrees to be his temporary girlfriend. Books by Lucy Score. I can't wait to see who gets together next. Finally Mine is proof. Oct 21, Cheryl rated it it was amazing. What a wonderful story of Aldo and Gloria. The writing was awesome. Your perceptions were spot on and so thoroughly explored. I received this ARC for a honest review. Oct 25, Leisa Cook rated it it was amazing. Lucy Score knows how to write HEA's! Aldo is just beginning to rekindle a relationship with Gloria before he is shipped off to Afghanistan. Gloria is just coming out of a long term abusive relationship and needs time to put her life back together.

When Aldo comes back an injured war hero both he and Gloria have obstacles to overcome. Their story is beautifully written as they struggle to put the past behind them and find their HEA. Oct 26, Anna rated it really liked it. My first LS book was which was Luke and Harper's story. Loved those two MCs. For too long LS left us hanging waiting for Aldo's story.

Where the heck was Aldo's HEA? Aldo is sexy, beyond sweet, a great son and friend, and smart. He's been in sorta, kinda love with Gloria since high school but never acted on it. Once Gloria is free he's patient and understanding but lets her know he wants to be with her. When he tells her to reach out, grow, while he's deployed but not to forget him This is probably my only complaint with Aldo and the other men in town including Luke is everybody knew Gloria was abused.

They all seemed to look the other way. Or did I miss something? It was a little confusing that Aldo cared about her for a decade but never did anything and watched Gloria dim every year. Gloria is much more difficult to pigeonhole. Domestic abuse is something I've never experienced and I think too many of us say "first time, last time, I'd never let that happen to me".

Understanding why women stay is something I don't understand but I don't blame the woman, or in this case Gloria. Watching her slowly break away from her husband, and slowly come into her own, with the occasional step backward, was like watching that colorful butterfly emerge. Her mistrust turning to trust and hope was happy baby steps. Gloria and Aldo were 3 stages: He's the rock and the positive one. Stage 2 is when Aldo comes home from Afghanistan missing part of his leg.

Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine

He's angry and wants no one including Gloria. Stage 3 is when they realize they can take turns being strong for each other and their relationship. Acceptance of each other and falling in love with the person they are today, not the past. While Gloria and Aldo were good together, I absolutely fell in love with the platonic relationship of Aldo and Harper. There were great glimpses of it in "PYM" but all the layers here were great. And Harper taking no crap from Aldo. Stage 2 Aldo is angry with the world and again Harper takes nothing from Aldo but she's there for him, taking care of him like Luke would want her to.

They made me laugh and I wanted to group hug both of them. Stage 3 when they're running and training together I swear I could hear the "Chariots on Fire" music especially during the race. LS does secondary storylines like no other. Overall, getting Aldo's story was a huge surprise and so welcome. Will we be getting Doc's story somewhere down the line? Oct 24, Kim May rated it it was amazing. Especially if you are trying to write a review for it. This was just such a book for me. It took me a few days to process it before I attempted this review. Some of the basics…this is a complete standalone.

However, if you read Pretend Your Mine, you know and love this couple already. The story-line runs parallel with the story-line in Pretend Your Mine, so some scenes overlap but from a different perspective. I guess at the heart of this book I would call it a second chance book. Not just a second chance romance book but a second chance at life book. This book has so much in it. This book is about fear, rebirth, acceptance, and finding your own strength.

Gloria is very different. She is unsure, timid and riddled with self-doubt. The most beautiful part of this book is seeing her blossom with a quite strength and learning to truly become herself. I think that her strength, one that is hard earned, is more admirable than most of the female characters I read from any author or genre. I connected with Gloria on many levels.

Her journey gives me hope and is awe-inspiring. As amazing as Gloria is, Aldo is just as wonderful. He is in my top 10 favorite book boyfriends of all time. Aldo has so much going for him, but my favorite part of him is how much he believes in Gloria. No matter what, his belief in her never waivers. Make this book the next one on your TBR list. Stop what you are reading and read this book now. Once you are done reading this book then tell all your friends about it.

Or better yet…just give them a copy. The world needs more love, hope, and acceptance like in this book. Oct 23, Bree rated it it was amazing. This book grabbed me right from the beginning and never let go. I loved Aldo and Gloria's characters when I read Pretend You're Mine, and this book runs that same timeline, so readers of Luke and Harper's story can get the full scoop of what Aldo and Gloria were experiencing at the same time.

Dynoro & Gigi D’Agostino - In My Mind

Aldo has all the characteristics of my favorite heroes: Then he comes home from active duty wounded, "damaged" and real. It's a great picture of what someone li This book grabbed me right from the beginning and never let go. It's a great picture of what someone like Aldo must have to overcome, and Lucy created such a strong man who had to allow himself to be humbled. She escapes unspeakable horror, but her wounds are deep as well.

It's so gratifying to watch her build her strength, learn to love and trust herself. They have to work through their own issues before they can be at their best together, and I love that they are brave enough to ask for help through that process. The way Lucy writes their "sessions" is so perfect, and it adds a much needed layer to their healing process. Here are my favorite lines: I just want you. Every piece, every scar, every millimeter of flawed perfection. Please make me yours. And it was beautiful. Their bodies were a work of art, a constellation of scars and strength and grit.

Together they made something beautiful. She gives such grace to the struggle and triumph of overcoming real challenges to embrace the you you choose to be.

Thanks for revisiting the little town of Benevolence, Lucy, and for giving Gloria and Aldo the strength and perseverance to love each other through good times and bad. It's a beautiful story. Oct 23, Missie M rated it it was amazing. The love shared by Gloria and Aldo is one of strength, growth, acceptance and bravery - with the steamy scenes we love from this amazing author.

These two characters go through things in this book that most of us are fortunate enough not to endure. But instead of letting these things hold them back, they learn to support each other in ways they never knew possible. I fully believe the pun must have been intended.
