The historical research on Alcatraz is impeccable. Descriptions of the streets and places in San Francisco are spot on. Since I am from San Francisco, I can virtually see, hear and smell the places described. A newspaper story reads, "San Francisco's favorite son, Lew Miles, was tortured to death at age 73 by a maniac He's obligated to make this correction.

Audiobook Thriller Fiction Mystery #1 By Jonh

I especially loved the bit of historical fiction aspect woven into this novel. As a history geek, I especially love the fact he did some great research about Alcatraz. Even though Reb provides a good back story for this to be a stand alone book, I definitely recommend reading Southern Scotch first.
