Paddington Goes for Gold (Paddington)

60 Years of Paddington

Peppa Goes Swimming and Other Audio Stories is a wonderful audiobook collection based on the hit TV show Peppa Pig, featuring newly recorded narration by John Sparkes, a full cast of voices from the original TV dialogue, music and special effects. In this piggy tale it's George's first visit to the swimming pool and he's scared of the water.

A brand new book starring Paddington, the classic bear from Darkest Peru, as he takes part in a local family sports event, with hilarious results! But, as always, when Paddington is around, things do not quite go according to plan… with outrageously sticky results. Will Paddington go home with any prizes?

I'm torn about how to review this book. I adore Stephen Fry's narration, and we all have loved the Paddington stories. I'd particularly recommend the other two that are available on Audible.

I realize this comment may be unfair, but I didn't notice how short this one was when I bought it. The other two audios are over 2 hours long and this is like 13 minutes.

So I wanted to warn any prospective purchasers who thought this was volume 3 of a wonderful series. On the other hand, anyone who loves children's books on audio needs to listen to Paddington as read by Fry.

I would just recommend the other 2 recordings. Little better than a chapter from one of the other Paddington books. You are done with this before you really know that it's ending.

Paddington Goes for Gold

Basically, Paddington and the Browns go to a community sports event with things from bicycle racing to knitting competitions it's a British thing. As per the usual Paddington style, he makes a mess of things but wins out in the end.

  • Paddington Goes for Gold (Paddington).
  • Paddington Goes for Gold (Paddington Bear (picture books)) by Michael Bond.
  • Drews First Day of School (I am a STAR Personalized Book Series 1)!
  • Sewing Moonlight;
  • Toppsta - Childrens Books – Reviews.
  • To Get With Stephanie;
  • Verklaerte Nacht, Op. 4 - Cello 2.

My biggest reason for marking this down both overall and the story is that it feels rushed like there are vignettes of things and the segues between the events aren't there. Then it's the almost full price of a book for what should be only short story.

Still if you like Paddington stories and your family likes it, it's worth it to round out the collection that it currently available. Paddington Goes for Gold By: Michael Bond Narrated by: Give as a gift.

Around on display in store windows across Britain will be smashed up after the festive period - despite hopes they could be sold off for charity. Mirror Online's sister website Kent Live has exclusively revealed tonight that around of them on display in store windows across Britain will be smashed up after the festive period - despite hopes they could be sold off for charity.

Paddington, the much-loved bear from Darkest Peru, currently features in the clothing giant's Christmas TV advertising campaign - and is said to be the most talked about on social media. The bear - currently staring in the hit film Paddington 2 - is also the centre of a massive promotions campaign which sees the store selling Paddington-inspired Christmas decorations, outfits and books and games.

So the news that the bear will meet a sticky end - and there's not a marmalade sandwich that can save him - will be devastating to thousands of fans. The iconic bear's destruction came to light after Sevenoaks Town Council asked the town's store if it could have its gold bear to auction off for charity after Christmas, Kent Live reports.

But open mouthed councillors were instead told "copyright, maintenance, and health and safety issues" prevented it being handed over for good causes. The charity this year supports Breast Cancer Care and its founder Sevenoaks breast cancer survivor, Steph Harrison, 58, said it was disappointing the gold bears could not be put to good use.

Just think - if there are bears that is charities that they could helped. Stephen Jones Deputy News Editor.
