Leah did an awesome job. I really enjoyed Karen and Steven's story. I am looking forward to more stories about the Mansion. Karen is someone who has been curious about the BDSM lifestyle and weather or not she is a submissive since she first started reading romances based on the theme.
Karen's curiosity often gets her into situations where she fails to think "what if". One of these such times finds her on the auction block at a magnificent hotel that caters to the lifestyle. She is saved from the block by Sir Steven, the owner of the hotel and soon they begin a romance. Throw in a bit of intrigue along the way, and K Karen is someone who has been curious about the BDSM lifestyle and weather or not she is a submissive since she first started reading romances based on the theme.
Throw in a bit of intrigue along the way, and Karen gets her answer if she is a submissive. I found this book very enjoyable to read. It was written well and the story followed a great path from the introduction of the characters through a satisfying resolution to their story. It does leave the door open for a sequel should the author decide to do so yes please but is she does not, the reader is given a very satisfying conclusion. The BDSM aspect of the story is believable and seems to come from someone who understands the dynamic between Dom and sub, instead of having just read about it in books.
What I liked the most, is that the scenes they shared never went too far too fast. As a new sub, she was introduced into the lifestyle gently. I am not a huge fan of when other author's have a sub tied up and being whipped within days of her even finding a Dom. I thank the author for making that aspect realistic. If I were to find a complaint at all, I would say that sometimes Karen seems a bit immature. Would someone who was curious about handcuffs really be testing them in a police station?
It really isn't a flaw in the book however, and took nothing away from reading the book. Michaels has found her voice in writing this book. She seems comfortable in the genre and I look forward to reading more of her work. If you like erotic romance, even if you are new to books with a BDSM theme, I strongly recommend this book because what the couple share in the lifestyle isn't going to be a turn off to those who don't normally read these type of books. It is the perfect book to cuddle up with. Fairly reviewed in exchange for a free copy of the book.

I enjoyed the writing, the characters were great, the meek and clumsy Karen, a jewellery designer, working for an old chap, who apparently hid lots of things from Karen. So she finishes an order and has to deliver it direct to the client, not realising what it was she had been working on. She had been reading lots of erotic romance books and secretly wanted a more interesting love life. She accidentally gets taken to a This was great, the storyline was believable, something you could see happening! She accidentally gets taken to an auction, but doesn't open her mouth to say she shouldn't be there!
The auction goes extremely well, unfortunately she gets bought by someone who is not a very nice person, The owner Steven Edwards, although thats not quite apparent at first realises that there had been a mistake, and tells the auction winner so, but you just know he isn't going to go away quietly.
Steven manages to get the truth out of Karen, not without feeling something straight away for her, she has certainly made an impression, she stays for the weekend, and gets to know Steven. The hotel is a private BDSM venue, so she begins to learn things about herself. After the weekend he sends her home, but she wants to stay. She reluctantly goes home, but can't stop thinking about Steven. Unfortunately her boss had got himself caught up in some BSD things but a police officer who she knows from the hotel, meets her at work, and it appears she might be in danger, the cop manages to get her into protection at Stevens hotel, where their relationship develops at a great rate.
She goes for a walk around the hotel, totally unaware she is being followed, it turns out it is the guy who had won her in the auction, and wants to claim her, Steven meanwhile is frantic as he can't find her when he eventually does its not pretty, he hit her very hard. They both have fallen very deep, declaring their feelings for each other, she moves into his private wing at the hotel. I hope things keep working for them, and hope we catch up with them in the next book. Honest review for ARC copy. Kitten couldn't be anymore accident prone!!
Since she's curious, she doesn't speak up that she's not who they claim she is. But, she meets Sir and life is never the same. Sex, romance, erotica, humor, and twists. This book has it all. Kitten cracks me up with her ability to be so distracted in such an establishment. For reading BDSM, she doesn't seem to know some of the fundamental things about being a sub in the beginning.
But once she actually opens her eyes, she understands the need to please her Dom. I did feel like there was just too much thrown into this one book. I really did enjoy it and I understand why the author wrote it all. I personally just wished for it to have slowed down a bit more.
Overall, 4 out of 5! Fun read, and I'm excited for the next one!!
